They said the 20-year-old was shot as he and scores of other protesters planted Palestinian flags in the ground near the border fence. Some threw stones, drawing the gunfire from an Israeli patrol on the far side of the fence. The man was shot in the abdomen, Mo'aweya Hassanein, the head of Gaza's emergency services, told reporters. The IDF spokesperson said in a statement that IDF troops worked to scatter the protesters and fired shots in order to distance them. According to the statement, the IDF is currently investigating the shooting incident. The death, the first suffered at the weekly demonstrations that organizers hope will draw attention to Israel's policy of barring Palestinians from coming within 300 meters (yards) of the border. "These are non-violent demonstrations against the Israeli imposition of the buffer zone," a foreign pro-Palestinian activist who gave her name as Eva told Reuters Television. "The Israelis say they can shoot anyone in this area. But it annexes Palestinian farmland. It annexes land where Palestinians live and work." The IDF spokesperson said that the area near the border fence is a combat zone, and the presence of terror groups in the area endangers Israeli citizens and security forces in the area. The Gaza border demonstrations began last month and are modeled on similar protests against land seizures for a barrier Israel is erecting in the West Bank, where Palestinians have also been fighting for a state. The Israeli army has been establishing a 300-meter no-go zone along the border with the Gaza Strip. Israel says the aim is to prevent Palestinian militants from firing homemade rockets from the enclave at Israel. Palestinians say the aim of the peaceful protests is to prevent the establishment of the zone which they say sees large areas of farmland confiscated and prevents farmers from reaching their fields
Killing protesters is not a new thing in Israel.
Well, it's a borderline case whether the protest was peaceful or not
fuck israel
Waiting for the incoming Israel hate bandwagon to arrive.
You can compare the state of Palestine to a cake being punched to pieces by a very angry Jew. [editline]07:33PM[/editline]
Waiting for the incoming Israel hate bandwagon to arrive.
What's this? The Friendly Israel PR welcome wagon?
Well, it's a borderline case whether the protest was peaceful or not
Where did you get that from?
Waiting for the incoming Israel hate bandwagon to arrive.
You're using a variation of the ad populum fallacy.
ohh fancy latin words to not really explain anything
Its called a fallacy, you wouldn't know.
Where did you get that from?
"Some threw stones, drawing the gunfire from an Israeli patrol on the far side of the fence." Throwing stones isn't peaceful.

Good shootin' on the Officer's part
Nice source there, OP. An actual Israeli newspaper.
"Some threw stones, drawing the gunfire from an Israeli patrol on the far side of the fence." Throwing stones isn't peaceful.
Nor does it warrant fucking lethal gunfire in return.
Waiting for the incoming Israel hate bandwagon to arrive.
Opinions based on facts and evidence ≠ bandwagon It's like saying, "waiting for the anti-slavery bandwagon to arrive." Just no.
I have the perfect plan: 1. America bombs Israel into pieces 2. Russia bombs America into pieces 3. Peace
I have the perfect plan: 1. America bombs Israel into pieces 2. Russia bombs America into pieces 3. Peace
BRILLIANT shut up
I have the perfect plan: 1. America bombs Israel into pieces 2. Russia bombs America into pieces 3. Peace
4. World war III starts/world
Nor does it warrant fucking lethal gunfire in return.
They first shot at the far side of the fence, perhaps it was a misfire or he was hit by sharpnel (or whatever it's called).

Sounds like Zionist tyranny to me.
So a Protest near a combat zone, where participants threw rocks at soldiers ended with a soldier firing off a few shots hiting someone in the abdomen and an Investigation taking place. FUCK ISRAEL. etc etc. I'm sure this thread is going to turn into yet another pissing contest between massive internet egos...
God fucking damnit. Whenever I hear about protesters being killed it's always in a "peaceful" protest. Fuck that. They're never peaceful. I'm sure there have been some true peaceful protests where a soldier killed a protester for a menial reason, but not every single protest is a peaceful one. It's getting annoying, and I hate seeing soldiers receive all the hate.
Well, it's a borderline case whether the protest was peaceful or not
o lol!
fuck israel
And in every israel thread, there would be this comment(I'm not saying that you are wrong)
The middle-east sure is great.
Look at it this way. Soldier in armor gets hit by rock, minor brusing. Guy gets hit by bullets, he DIES. The most that they could and should ever do is bring out some riot gear.
So a Protest near a combat zone, where participants threw rocks at soldiers ended with a soldier firing off a few shots hiting someone in the abdomen and an Investigation taking place. Sounds like Zionist tyranny to me.
Yes, it was a protest near a combat zone. Was it at the combat zone? Nope. Also, investigation doesn't mean shit, the worst they could do IF they took action is "discipline soldiers". Also, are you justifying the death? A few protesters threw rocks from a distance at ARMORED officers, and you honestly believe that they deserved to die? That's like saying the Americans who threw snowballs and rocks from a few feet at the British soldiers whose armor is no where near as powerful as today at Boston massacre deserved to die.
