I love snakes personally... but I'd love to take people who are terrified of snakes to something like this.
Y'know the thing with snakes is- whenever I touch them I'm expecting them to be slimy every time. But in the end they're not. Feels weird.
seeing the snake move without its skin made me sad
They even kick them around haha. I find snakes to be pretty cool, when they aren't trying to kill you. Must be another thing when you see a box saying "Caution live snakes".
I like snakes, most of them are pretty easy going.
I felt sad watching the snakes getting butchered :c and man people annoyed the shit out of those snakes, seems kinda degrading for them. It was still fascinating to watch and all but most snakes just want to be left alone.
to the creators of THAT video: Why the fuck would you decapitate a snake and video tape it?
It had already been decapitated when they found it iirc. They thought it was dead. That shit is what nightmares are made of.
Jesus. I wonder how long it had been sitting there.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rattlesnake_round-ups From what I've gathered, they round up hundreds of snakes then take them to these fairs to show them off and kill them for food and products. In some cases they even sew their mouths shut so they can take pictures with them.
Rattlesnake Roundups were started over 50 years ago as a way to control Rattlesnake population, now they are mainly around due to the amount of money they make. For those of you who are wondering what Rattlesnake Roundups are, here’s a quick description: hunters will go out and catch as many Rattlesnakes as they can by pouring gasoline into burrows such as gopher tortoise burrows in the hopes of bringing the snake out, then they put it a box, bring it to the event, kill most of them, or they put the snake in a freezer to “chill” the snake crystalizing the blood causing extreme pain for the snake, then they sew its mouth shut and let people hold it, take pictures with it, and the snake eventually dies from stress. In Sweetwater Texas they kill up to 17,000 Rattlesnakes, leaving up to 378,000 rodents to survive, multiply, and spread diseases. If these events continue Rattlesnakes could go extinct. If Rattlesnakes go, people will start to go too. Rattlesnakes are a very important part of the Ecosystem. The more Rattlesnakes we lose the more rodents we get.
http://www.reptileoverload.com/rattlesnake-roundups-the-madness-that-must-end Not exactly an event for someone that loves snakes. All they do is make profit off their exploitation.
All those tourists are so fat jesus.
Yep, a lot of visitors resemble rednecks at roundups.
All those tourists are so fat jesus.

I noticed the snakes that interacted with people had shit around their mouths. Jesus that's awful. I mean yeah I know rattlesnakes aren't particularly cuddly but they're fucking living things. The fact they just round up to degrade and butcher them in front of a crowd is a little... disturbing.
Well, now I have to wonder why it's on national geographic.
It's like what the guy says at the end of the video. Documentaries like this are to get you thinking.
