AN emotional Julia Gillard has told how her government made Australia stronger, smarter and fairer, as she blamed her demise partly on sexist reaction to a female leader. The deposed Labor leader came close to tears as she spoke about being the first female prime minister and then joked about dodging sandwiches with Australian Federal Police guards. Carrying out her pledge to resign from politics if she lost the leadership ballot, she said she would not contest the next election and warned her pregnant niece, whose baby is due next month, to expect a very "meddlesome great aunt". Laying out the legacy she had left the country, she said the education funding reforms that passed the parliament yesterday were the "defining passion" of her life. Although it was a broken promise, she said the carbon tax was a "historic reform that will serve this nation well".
she blamed her demise partly on sexist reaction to a female leader.
I call bullshit. I've not heard anything positive about any of her policies, I think she just wants to blame anything other than herself.
Apparently shes well known in the Welsh community, any welshmen can confirm this?
Not really. Then again, only me mum's Welsh, for the most part I'm Scots-Irish.
Apparently shes well known in the Welsh community, any welshmen can confirm this?
She was born and raised in the UK before coming over here so that makes sense
didnt she fuck up your parenting laws or something when you get sandwiches thrown at you i think that says a pretty big message
Australia has a heavily right wing biased media.
Australia has a heavily right wing biased media.
Unless you watch ABC news or SBS
Australia has a heavily right wing biased media.
Not really, though Herald Sun and a few affiliated channels are owned by Rupert Murdoch. It's just this time the anti-Labor propaganda won out because all the surface issues like the information leaks and Rudd's incessant meddling just didn't stop, the liberals had a vast amount of ammunition to use and Gillard just wasn't communicating how well off the country really is.
