I'm a beta tester but I'm under a NDA. However, I'm going to try and get some permission to write up a brief overview of the new content before its release.
Is Killing Floor worth buying then? I've always seen it as a game I'd get bored of quickly. I'm starting to have my doubts.

Should have nothing to do with steam servers... There are hosted servers for Killing Floor like gmod has.
It's basically Left 4 Dead without the cool characters and better weapons.

That doesn't make what you said any less wrong or any less stupid.
The gameplay is completely different from Left 4 Dead in every way but that its a first person shooter.

That's a very terrible description. Doesn't tell you anything about what the game is actually like.
Left4dead:
Large amounts of fast moving zombies with special infected wandering around as well
4 players
3 types of guns
Coop, Versus, and Survivor
Killing Floor:
Moderate amounts of varied slow moving mutants
6 players
Several types of guns
Survival mode only
I hardly see anything to compare, these games are really a lot different.

Yes it is I had it for about only 4 days and it still never gets bored. The perks keep me going and trying to get the most kills and the best weapons also keep me going. It also has great custom maps.
