Chris Christie cronies guilty on all Bridgegate charges
Kelly and Baroni are fighting charges they worked together to close access lanes to the bridge to punish Mark Sokolich, the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee, for not endorsing Christie for re-election in 2013. Baroni was the deputy executive director of the Port Authority and Kelly was a deputy chief of staff to Christie at the time. A second agency official, David Wildstein, has pleaded guilty.
Developing, it is yet unclear whether Christie will get the shaft as well.
:v:
Just wow.
This comes literally an hour or so after the Trump campaign announced Christie's first campaign stops since the Access Hollywood tape came out

I'm sure he'll wriggle out this somehow.
Christie For Prison 2016.
Please impeach that fat bastard
Good. That shit was a god damn nightmare.

Even if so, he won't be reelected.
His approval ratings as governor were pretty low before too right?
I guess he's where he belongs
bottom
His approval started well at first, but then steadily fell apart as his policies began to take their toll as well as the fact that his main base hated Obama and Democrats so him working with Obama was seen as treason.

Before this scandal, he had the lowest approval rating among all governors IIRC
LOCK EM UP
Chris Christie had the potential to unite the New York & New Jersey undecideds under the Republican party as a moderate candidate with practical bipartisan experience. Then this scandal came out, and he had to swing hard right, pledging support to Trump.
He was the chosen one. It was said that he would oppose the hardcore conservatives, not join them. He was to bring balance to the party, not leave it in darkness.
Christie is the Darth Vader to Trump's Sidious.

He was never a moderate, he was overwhelming far-right in his polices. Maybe on two or three things like immigration or the DREAM act you can agree with but he's your typical anti-abortion, wealthy elite protecting, conservative.
Doesn't help that all the politicians from north jersey are a bunch of fucking corrupt cronies who want to fuck over the rest of us down south, he's just another one of them with Bob Menendez.
Chris Christie is like a fat version of Richard Nixon.

That's an insult to Richard Nixon, tbh.
Hillary is more like Nixon.

Emails leak = Watergate
I guess?
I have never been able to understand how New Jersey has managed to hold onto a Republican governor so long. We're so liberal.
Please get rid of him.

Vermont is seemingly about to elect a Republican governor too

Vermont is a very mixed bag, there are a LOT of conservatives here, all around the agricultural areas. That and what Hillary said about Vermont's stance on guns pissed a lot of people off, and Shumlin is an actual sleaseball. There are hardly ANY hillary signs here, yet there are STILL Bernie signs everywhere with the addition of Jill Stein and Gary Johnson ones too. If you want to know where all the people live who are voting 3rd party because of Bernie butt hurt, it's here.

More republican turnout in gubernatorial elections, the whole "Republicans win when Democrats don't vote" rule.
In the legislative however, where there are more democrats, comes from the more urban areas where democrats are the majority. This is typically North Jersey, where there are more democrats in the metropolitan area but they are either not willing to go out and vote or are too busy to do so *or are just not that many Republicans in the more sparse townships.
In South Jersey we have more conservative voting bloc, with retirement communities, rural townships, and other like minded groups. These voters are more likely to go out and vote.
Also the dems here had no one to really challenge Christie, they were weak after Corzine afaik.

Presidential nominees for their parties, one a president and the other soon to be. Involved in a scandal displaying unethical behavior and performing actions they shouldn't have done, FBI investigation and said scandal tainting the reputation of them. Only difference is one led to the others resignation in face of impeachment and the other hasn't gotten that far yet.
* = edit.
Aaaand he's out

Apparently there was evidence that Christie was a part of this but because it wasn't enough to "prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt", charges were not pressed against him "at the time".
Heard that from NPR.
I'm assuming two things from that statement from the DA; 1 - There is evidence Christie was a part of it, just not enough to put into court, and 2 - there could be more evidence now that could lead to charges pressed.
