• Youtube subs are dissappearing by the millions, some channels going negative

From the Social blade blog:
A number of YouTube channels are experiencing huge subscriber count losses, as the result of a glitch that occurred Wednesday afternoon. The glitch was first reported by YouTube user BlackScreenTV, who theorized that it was caused by a counting error when subscribing and un-subscribing. We conducted our own tests, and found his theory to be correct.
Source BlackScreenTV was the first to notice the bug and work out how it worked, by asking his subscribers to unsub then resub he instantly lost thousands of subs, becoming the first channel to ever have (on paper) a negative sub count. Here's the live feed he threw up with a couple of youtubers live sub counts. Update: It seems like all accounts are being hit by this glitch, if you rapidly subscribe an unsubscibe to an account it will lose subscribers at a rate of two every unsub. Youtube done goofed up big time. Update: Still going on, accounts with a high rate of sub circulation is being hit the hardest. Pewdiepie is losing hundreds of subs a second. if this goes on he'll drop below 50 million again Update: Some official statements from Youtube incoming, after H3H3 tweeted at them about the glitch, asking if it was related to the recent "auto unsub glitch we're already having

This is some pretty interesting programming. Wonder what's causing the glitch.
This is unreal, every unsub counts double, so you can totally break an account by subbing and unsubbing, especially once people realize what's happening
Are random people being unsubbed or is it just a visual glitch?
PewdiePie just started a live feed
I have a net gain of 1 subscriber over the last two months! :toot:
....Breaking? really?
YouTube continues being shit, news at eleven.
....Breaking? really?
Yeah YouTube is breaking
....Breaking? really?
Shhhh, lets make him continually update the high profile breaking news OP or get banned...
PewdiePie just started a live feed
Why is it when you hover over the timeline at the bottom of the video, the time is in minus?
So how could this possible happen?
So how could this possible happen?
It's youtube.
Pewdiepie already lost 100,000 subscribers, what a colossal failure on youtubes part. Also how is this even possible??

Loving the stream
This is neat but it very likely is just the count that goes down. Which means that there isn't really a loss of a subscriber in function. e.g. If 2 people are subbed (A and B) and B unsubscribes then the subscriber count would be 0 yet A would still see himself as subscribed.
It's obviously not displaying the correct numbers so hopefully they will be restored soon enough. Still, it's pretty damn crazy that something like this can happen.
I think this might be fake, I went to Leafy's channel, his subs are actually higher than the numbers in this video and doesn't seem to be changing much.

Seems to be a simple bug in the counter of subs. I doubt it actually unsubs other people if you do that.
On the plus side for YouTubers this will probably force YouTube to reaccount all channels subscribers.
Tana just fell below 2 million. The chat spam that followed was the fastest I've ever seen.
if u go into the negatives for subscribers u have to pay youtube to upload videos

Is this only for the desktop version? The mobile app still shows sub counts correctly
Yesterday I made a time travel joke with the exact same conclusion
Maybe Zinzi needs to stop marketing interviews and actual type some shit on her keyboard and not her phone
