I know this isn't the first thread of the sort, but I'm seriously put on two ends about this. I'll try to make this as easily understandable as possible.
First off, I'm 17, and I' m in 11th grade. I've never tried weed, nor any other narcotic, and if anything I only plan on smoking pot. The reason for this being that I really see no reason in smoking tobacco or using other drugs if they always seem to have negative effects reparable or more so than the positive effects.
I go to an ALC, or Alternative Learning Center. I left my normal school after a huge bout of anxiety, and this hasn't helped my social status. At my current school, I'm ahead of schedule. Seeing as we can complete courses independently, I've gotten all but two of my 11th grade courses done.
Despite all of this, I still feel extremely stressed.
This is part of my dilemma. I am one of two people in my school that doesn't smoke weed. Out of 80 or so people in my entire school, I'm an oddball. It makes me feel like shit, and I don't get anywhere with people out of it. So I ask myself during this heavy contemplation, am I only thinking of doing this to fit in, or is it because of something else?
I've heard that weed also increases sense of creativity, which also intrigues me. A few other examples are that it decreases anxiety, stress, and depression, which are biggies for me. After reading experiences of smoking weed, I wonder, what's the catch?
If none, I really think I may try it. My best friend, who I didn't know smoked pot, was just recently caught smoking weed. Not only has that changed my mindset on the subject, but it has also caused me to waste this long fucking weekend contemplating it.
I'd really like balanced views on this. I'm sorry if this is extremely blogpunch, but I'm split on the subject. I know of several friends who would invite me to smoke, (Nearly everyone at my school gets baked at lunch), but I want to know what the positives and negatives are.
Well first of all, make sure you want smoke it because YOU want to, not because you want to fit it.
What's the catch of smoking weed? There is no catch.

That's the thing though. I want to smoke for several reasons, some my own, and some to fit in. I want to fit in, in a sense, because I feel like a social ghost, (Excuse the cliche there).
On the other hand, I want to try it to see if it helps with anxiety, depression, stress, etc.
EDIT: I've never been to a party, presumably because I'm thought of as a clean cut kid. This adds to my dilemma, and I really am sick of it.
What is there to contemplate? Just do it
What is there to contemplate? Just do it
I plan on it. I'll post if and when I do.
Get high and your life will become 100 times better thereafter.
No offence or anything, but it really sounds like you need to get some friends.
Definitely try smoking some weed and see if that helps any anxiety issues, but I don't think you should smoke it to fit in at all.

I do have friends, but most, if not all, of them smoke weed.
Nothing harmful in trying it
Well nothing harmful in smoking it regularly either, but still, there is absolutely no negative sides in taking that first step here. You don't like it, don't try it again, it'll be as if you never did it
on the other hand, if you do like it, you'll end up with something you enjoy a lot and it will pretty much change your perception on a lot of things
[editline]01:28PM[/editline]
basically it'd only be worth contemplating if you were planning to make it a part of your life before trying it
If you do end up smoking chronic, don't have your first time at lunch. You don't want to become a giggling mess infront of teachers, I know the first time I blazed I was sooo high and had insane giggles.
Smoke at a friends house or something.
To be honest, it sounds perfect for you. Just be prepared for a much different state of mind than you're used to.
Weed sounds like it's perfect for you. I used to be anti-social, depressed and anxious. Marijuana 110% does help with all of those things for me. I never really had friends I saw often before I started smoking, but it's just about the most social thing I do now.
Just be smart, don't get caught, and have a good fucking time. The most negative effects I can think of are temporary paralyzation of the cilia in your trachea, coughing, and temporary short-term memory impairment. The only negative side-effects that come to mind are temporary and not very long-lived at all.
I don't recommend or endorse breaking the law, but if you think that this is right for you, it sounds like your cup of tea to me.
Thanks for the positive and constructive comments.
I do know of several times when I can try it that isn't at school, I'll probably go to a friends house or something like franz suggested.
Anyways, does anyone have examples of creativity while high? I figure myself as slightly able in a few arts, (Guitar, 3D art), and I would like to see what I come up with when I'm high.
Some of my friends brought up the subject and handed over a lump of o' sweet weed. I thought "what the hell..." and took a hit. Best decission ever. Do it.
Try photoshop. I think like 50% of my contributions in the photoshop section was made while high. It's a lot of fun.
OP probably has aspergers

That's nice. I hope I don't disappoint you in the fact that I don't. Not really sure how having anxiety and depression links to aspergers, but whatever.

I know because i have it :downs: I think it links because you behave weirdly if you can't control it and people hate you for it.
Messed up primary school and half of my secondary school social life, but thinks generally improved after that I guess. :buddy:

Eh, no one hates me, (That I know of, I try not to make enemies), and I don't think I behave weirdly. I'm just quiet and shy.
Anywho, this is getting quite off topic. Has anyone ever had any paranoid experiences while high? Paranoia in general is extremely intriguing to me.
do you like trains

Yea, sometime when I'm high, I just go in the shower and I'm starting to think that I forgot my bowl or anything in the kitchen. Right after, I think that my mind tricks me or something, I hear people entering in the house so I think my parents are coming home and that they would see my stuff.
I usually talk to my-self, saying: "Dude, you're being fucking paranoid". But honestly, that doesn't change anything. =P
Yeah it'll happen at some point. Tell your self that your just high and nothings wrong.

Haha, I'm like that normally. Thankfully I'm not like that when I'm high.
Since we're on the topic of the negatives and positives of weed, I need some help. I told some of my friends that I was considering trying it and they seemed to be extremely opposed to me doing so. They pulled out the classic "gateway drug" card and that you'll get arrested and ruin your life and all that shit. So I need a reliable source that says that it's not as dangerous as the war on drugs propaganda says it is. I've tried searching it on Google but I only get sites that are strongly against marijuana or strongly for it. I need a good, reliable and unbiased study on the negatives and positives of marijuana, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm not going to try and pressure them into smoking with me, I just want them to see the truth about weed.
Watch "The Union" or tell them to watch it.

Just looked up the trailer on Youtube, looks great. Thanks.
Since I've smoked weed on occasion I find myself a lot more chilled and it has changed my perspective for the greater in many aspects. To be honest, there is no harm in smoking it erry day so it's definitely worth at least trying.

I've had many, many paranoid experiences, mainly hearing sirens and shit like that. After my first few times of being the paranoid jumped up kid I learned to chill out and now I never feel paranoid. It's all down to your mindset. If you feel uncomfortable about your situation before you bud up, then you'll probably feel a lot worse once you high. Keep that in mind. Hope this helped!

That's ironic, when I told one of the girls in my class, she got really excited about it. I'm not sure on how you could convince your friends, but all of my friends are pretty happy for me for some reason.
