Frank Maloney, the former boxing promoter who guided Lenox Lewis to the world heavyweight title, has revealed that he is living as a woman called Kellie, and is going to undergo a sex change. "I was born in the wrong body and have always known I was a woman. I can't keep living in the shadows, that is why I am doing what I am today. Living with the burden any longer would have killed me," Maloney, 61, told the Sunday Mirror. The promoter, who guided Lewis to the 1993 title, retired from boxing last year and has been working with the transgender organisation TG Pals. i thought it said transformer and i was about to frown about otherkin but then i saw transgender and all was well good for her
Takes courage. I can understand why the decision was made to do the reveal after retiring though, the boxing community must be thoroughly difficult to navigate if you're transgender.
How about we don't go into the he/her/it/they bullshit today eh? This is also the Same Frankellie Maloney who was called to resign as a UKIP candidate because he was openly against Homosexuality at the time. I find it just a little ironic that someone who is going through a sex change has a problem with Homosexuality. Is he going to leave his wife once he becomes a full fledged woman? That would make her gay, wouldn't it?
ITT: Facepunchers make a point of using the correct pronoun. It's interesting how someone could live for over 60 years before deciding that they were born in the wrong body. (User was banned for this post ("itt" - Orkel))

If you wanna dress like a woman then okay, but I don't see how mutilating your own body is acceptable.
If you wanna dress like a woman then okay, but I don't see how mutilating your own body is acceptable.
And here we go. Look at the amount of homophobes who claim they're "ex-gays", or the anti-gay politicians who get caught with same-sex prostitutes.
If you wanna dress like a woman then okay, but I don't see how mutilating your own body is acceptable.
If you suddenly started growing mantits you're saying you wouldnt have them surgically removed to feel better about yourself?
And here we go. Also, about the homosexuality thing, it's not entirely uncommon for people acting that way to do so because they're suppressing their own conditions. I'm don't hate trans people or anything just like I don't hate people who get a tattoo, but in both cases I think it is dumb decision. At least with a tattoo you can reverse it if you really need to.
If you wanna dress like a woman then okay, but I don't see how mutilating your own body is acceptable.
who says its not acceptable? you? God? who cares what you think.

Politicians, especially, are deeply incentivized to go for mass appeal (to their chosen voter demographics) over personal qualms with party platforms. Wouldn't be the first time societal pressure has made a hypocrite out of someone. I'm not excusing said hypocrisy or any terrible shit done because of it, but it's not unheard of.
ITT: Facepunchers make a point of using the correct pronoun. It's interesting how someone could live for over 60 years before deciding that they were born in the wrong body.
The OP clearly quotes Maloney as saying that this has been a lifelong closeted thing. It's tragic that someone would deny their own identity for six decades of life because of a backwards society.

I have since edited the post to clarify that. Only the "and here we go" part was directed at you because you made the inevitable shitpost that turns the whole thread into a debate on whether or not transgender is real.
Ad hominem I see? I'm don't hate trans people or anything just like I don't hate people who get a tattoo, but in both cases I think it is dumb decision. At least with a tattoo you can reverse it if you really need to.
The difference here is that you don't get a tattoo to deal with your gender dysphoria.
Ad hominem I see? I'm don't hate trans people or anything just like I don't hate people who get a tattoo, but in both cases I think it is dumb decision. At least with a tattoo you can reverse it if you really need to.
um sir you are triggering me
If you wanna dress like a woman then okay, but I don't see how mutilating your own body is acceptable.
They're not mutilating their body, they're trying to fix it.
They're not mutilating their body, they're trying to fix it.
but it was already fine?? if you're born with a pair of testicles im pretty sure that makes you a man, you can't destroy what's been preprogrammed
but it was already fine?? if you're born with a pair of testicles im pretty sure that makes you a man
They're fixing their sex to match their gender ya tool.
but it was already fine?? if you're born with a pair of testicles im pretty sure that makes you a man, you can't destroy what's been preprogrammed
No it means you have male sex organs, not necessarily the brain of a man.
but it was already fine?? if you're born with a pair of testicles im pretty sure that makes you a man, you can't destroy what's been preprogrammed
Gender and sex are distinct concepts.
