So, The Fall of Troy will be releasing their new album tomorrow. It's called In The Unlikely Event and from what I've heard of it (all of it) it's pretty good. It's got plenty of good songs and some that will grow on you. So if your a fan of Fall of Troy or just progressive rock in general, I'd check it out. This is Fall of Troy's fourth full length album and their first full album with their bassist, Frank Ene. It's not nearly as heavy as any of their other stuff but Thomas Erak (Guitar/Vocals) said they'd be moving a bit into lighter territory. It's got some good songs and some not so good songs. But it's a great album overall. The song list is: 1. "Panic Attack!" – 3:34 - The song they gave out for free. If you haven't heard it yet, listen to it now, probably one of the best songs on the album. 2. "Straight-Jacket Keelhauled" - 2:24 - This one's pretty nice. It's got plenty of their new bassist, Frank Ene, screaming in it. 3. "Battleship Graveyard" - 5:10 - Now I'm not sure about this one, it's a little slow and heavy for my tastes but I'm sure I'll grow to like it. 4. "A Classic Case of Transference" - 4:43 - This one is cool, has Thomas Erak 5. "Single" - 3:06showing off his better vocals. 6. "Empty the Clip, the King Has Been Slain, Long Live the Queen!" - 3:17 - This is another I'm not too sure about. It's enjoyable but their's still better songs. 7. "People and Their Lives" - 6:18 - I like this one, they put some reverb on Erak's voice and it works out well. 8. "Dirty Pillow Talk" 4:18 - This song is good. It has Rody Walker (Protest the Hero) singing guest vocals. 9. "Nobody's Perfect" - 4:44 - At first I felt this song was a tad slow, but I'm jsut starting to like the tempo. 10. "Webs" - 4:18 - This is probably my favorite song on the album. It's a nice jazzy sounding song but FoT pulls it off really well. 11. "Walk of Fame" - 5:20 - This one's got a pretty fun bass line. As a bassist myself, I enjoy good bass lines. 12. "Nature Vs. Nurture" - 5:43 - This is a great song to end the album on. It starts out real slow with choppy chords and you expect something heavy but then it goes to the vocals and plays out smooth. Well until later in the song where it goes a tad crazy, but it's still good.
Panic Attack! is such a song, I love it. Can't wait for this album. :D Panic Attack!
Panic Attack is probably one of the best ones on the album. It was a perfect song for them to give away for free.
this album disappointed me so bad
Why? Just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad.
I didn't really enjoy it, but I might just need to listen deeper into it. There was nice bits, sure, but it didn't seem like a good album overall.
The vocals are mixed way too loud.
Why? Just because it's different doesn't mean it's bad.
it's not that different from their other albums
It's like the same as Manipulator and Doppelganger, but bland and shit. I was hoping for more stuff like POTH.
I loved Phantom on the Horizon but they fucked up the bass line in Chapter One real bad.
This was underwhelming for sure. A new lyrical low, for sure. It's not like the lyrics in the past have been amazing, but this is just sophomoric and stupid...ugh. Still, there are some sick instrumental parts.
The guitar work has gone down the shitter.
