GAME Will Not Be Stocking Mass Effect 3 (Or Any Other New EA Games)
A source has revealed to IGN that GAME, the UK's biggest specialist retail store, will not be stocking Mass Effect 3 when it is released on March 9th.
The document below, which came from one of the group's flagship stores, indicates that GAME will not be stocking ANY of EA's March releases after SSX. Customers with pre-orders will be given £5 worth of Reward Card/Elite points.

This follows a very rough year for the chain, which has had credit problems that have prevented it from stocking some new releases. Recently, Wii RPG The Last Story, Ubisoft's entire PS Vita lineup and Tekken 3DS have been absent from store shelves and GAME's online store. The company's troubles have led to widespread rumblings that the chain might collapse, leaving the UK high street without a dedicated games retailer.
We have reached out to GAME for comment and confirmation.
Obviously they will only stock Cowadoody

No, they will stock a large number of other games too.
Makes sense, if you have money problems why would you stock something that you can have a midnight launch for and sell an utter shitload of copies, I presume what this is saying is it won't be stocked in stores since their site is still offering a preorder.
GAME should just kill itself, its not helping anyone...

Whereas you are the epitome of helpfulness?
Whereas you are the epitome of helpfulness?
Gamestation is better.

But what is he offering as a business, um nothing considering he isn't a business. Not stocking EA games or games of the like is almost financial suicide.

They're owned by the same company.
Seems they left this a bit late to tell everyone.
What is this shit? They practically sold out on pre-orders over here now they have to give back all that money? I had the collectors edition ordered and everything.
Good, ME3 is a publishing trainwreck.
They've pretty much just cocked the gun, tied the noose, and jumped off the cliff, really. This is total financial suicide.
Maybe this is similar to how they were cockblocking Steam earlier, but with Origin this time?
Oh come on guys it's just a recall, it's not like they're keeping your money or giving you "store credit" for it.
They're even giving people five pounds to spend at their store and everything
£5 wouldn't even get you a half decent pre-owned game
My brother works at GAME and just told me this.
He's also going to have to look for a new job because GAME is fucked.
I hope he'll be ok.
I guess that means no collectors edition for me then...

Definitely not the hundreds of people they employ.
God, I forgot how crap Game is.
I mean, start bitching about decreasing sales, then have a rant and threaten to stop selling Steam games. Now do the same for EA. I fail to see how such a genius move will raise sales. :v:
Thank god for the advent of digital distribution.
It kind of looks like this is more EA's fault. GAME is a pain in their ass since they sell preowned games, also since they've launched Origin they need physical retail less and less.
MEANWHILE AT EB GAMES

-snip-
Went into GAME, Staff have no idea what's going on, they gave me back my pre-order fiver and an extra 5 euro on my card. Then procede to give me a link to EA's website. Then I head over to gamestop and I'm met with the smuggest looking manager I've ever seen. "You know your first mistake? going to GAME" he then told me that GAME can't afford to order ME3, they are in the shit.
I really feel sorry for GAMES workers, they are getting the short end of the stick.

EB Games doesn't operate in the UK.
I don't think you understood. They're losing money, customers, and their entire company image with this move.
