A police officer in training fatally shot an unarmed teen burglary suspect early Friday at a car dealership, Arlington police said. Officer Brad Miller shot and killed 19-year-old Christian Taylor after officers responded to a burglary in progress about 1 a.m. at the Classic Buick GMC near Interstate 20 and Collins Street, police said. Taylor was unarmed, police said.
http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/2015/08/arlington-police-officer-fatally-shot-a-man-early-friday-at-car-dealership.html/ I knew him in freshman year from football. He was a really friendly, helpful dude. I really wouldn't have pegged him as the burglar type, wonder why he did it. Weird.
It's a shame the officers of Arlington haven't implemented their body cameras yet. There doesn't seem to be any question as to whether or not the suspect was doing something criminal, but given that the officer involved in the shooting was still in training, the footage could at least ensure that his use of force was necessary and that he followed proper procedure. Hopefully the store's cameras got an angle on it.
that's spooky close to my house
He didn't deserve to die at all, fire this incompetent fucking cop and re-evaluate the training procedures. Training cops should be given with a trained partner and follow much different procedures then what they do, as I said the six week training is worth jack-shit.

That seems like a failed system as only those with experience in the field will know how to respond appropriately.

Driving a car into a car dealership isn't your normal break in, its a very destructive thing to do. Who knows what was going on in his head
If there was another officer there, he had likely drawn for a reason. Firing/not firing was totally up to him at that point, but we'd have to see video to know if he made the right call or not.

You were there and saw what happened? You're just another ignoramus who fancies himself an armchair expert on Law Enforcement tactics, you probably have very little life experience yourself.

To the ones who responded to me, you really think he deserved to die when there's only a possibility he attacked, & possibly just panicked like most of these cases? I had less credibility because I didn't read the thing about the car wreck since I skimmed the article, for that I apologize, my opinion stands though... All I have to change about it is this, they should have sent more cops, and DEFINITELY a training officer should not have been sent into a situation like this. That police training officer sucks for dealing with the situation so shitty. That columbine shooter icon, and you are telling me about how he possibly deserved to die, probably everyone does in your mind. All he did was try to steal shit. Cops cover each others asses all the time in these cases.

If the officers said he attacked them I don't see why they would need to lie.
