Welp, decided to take a more serious stance on photography. I've been learning a lot recently, so I figured it's time I open a thread, and post more of my serious works. Of course, the OP will be updated every time I get a roll of film developed. At the moment, I have six rolls sitting on my desk begging to be bathed in chemicals. Now, the point of this thread isn't show-offy in the slightest, but more of a learning experience. Any CC will be welcomed by anyone. I would like to get as good as I can; for the sake of just learning to get good. I don't plan to take any career in photography, but more of just a hobby I am extremely interested in at the moment. Anyhow, I would like to start this thread off with just a few photos I had taken not too long ago, and I will add onto this thread from there. These were all taken with my Canon AE-1 Program.

Interesting focus on this one.
As for the others, I really like most of them. Especially the nature ones, and the church one. They have an amazing atmosphere to them.

that one was actually not intended to be focused like that. I wanted to focus on the huge wall behind it, I have no clue how it came out the way it did. also, thank you. they church was built in 1839, so i would agree with the atmosphere, very dark, very old. wish i could've used black and white for the church one's. as for the nature, it was extremely cloudy that day, so i think the lighting added to the calmness of everything i shot.
my favorite is the grave picture still.
i really like the one too. the little guy was interesting, makes me wonder who placed that there, or how long it had been there. the cemetery was directly behind the ancient church, and the little guy looks really old and faded. god, i wish i had gotten him in b&w, would've added a lot to the longevity of the doll. >:c
I like these. Especially the tones on them.
My favourite two would be:
[img_thumb]http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6187/6091897118_a0d05eb835_b.jpg[/img_thumb]

As for the others, like Booster said, I like the atmosphere however I feel that some of these lack a subject. I find myself staring at nothing but dirt or leaves sometimes, like this one for example:
[img_thumb]http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6191/6091354593_ddc44d2f83_b.jpg[/img_thumb]
Or the first one.
The grave one and the church one are nice but I don't quite like the angle they was shot at. I think I would've like it more if you moved a little over to the left for the grave one and a more direct angle for the church one. I thoroughly enjoy shots of a row of things, in this case chairs and the walkway, leading up to something interesting, in this case the church...thing.... whatever it's called. A stand? Stage? I'm not too sure.
I find myself saying this a lot but, I found some of these shots boring. Like the one of the corner of the house, the fence thing and the triangle.
All in all, I like the tones, would like to see you try some different angles.

alrighty, thank you very much. x)
i will try to work on void subjects, but sometimes, things just look too cool. ;b
and for the corner of the house, I was trying to get a picture of a lot of baby spiders on a spider web, but that didn't work out too well. either i didn't expose the picture long enough, or my lens just couldn't see them too well.
I know how you feel. I do it all the time. "hey that looks cool" try to take a picture. I see in my own all the time. I just feel that usually my shots like that always lack something.
aw lawd, this weekend, hopefully this weekend, i can muster some funds to develop dat feelm.
lol, oops, completely forgot about this thread. updated the op with more recent pictures.
