Honestly I can kinda understand why he did this since the interview was not well organised, but I still found it unusual.

I think maybe he felt a little used when they just sprung on him that idea of a performance or something like that. He didn't really seem into it to begin with and then they tried to take a lot of effort out of him like that. That's how I interpreted it.

yeah that suggestion at the end was basically them saying that they wanted to squeeze the most money possible out of him and he knew he was getting used to promote some other fuckers. you can't really approach somebody with that little tact and expect them to stay.
