First, if you don't know what a jet flame lighter is, watch this video:
Well I'm mostly smoking outside with my mates and since I'm going to get a new bong next week(an acrylic one with a metal bowl/stem) I thought about getting an jet flame lighter, since their flame is kinda "constant", so you don't have to fuzz with no flame and lighting up several times.
The only contra I've found via googling was that the flame's temperature is around 1800 Fahrenheit(980°C). Now I don't really know how hot a normal lighter gets, but if I remember chemistry class right, blue flame was always hotter.
I was going to get a "V-Fire Terminator Jet", which looks like this:

That means I can barely burn my fingers as well. Good thing to have.
Anyone tried these kind of lighters? Would like to know if I'd light up the bowl too fast.
If you're smoking with a glass pipe, I'd suggest you to avoid as much as possible to let the flame touch the glass for more than 2 seconds (direct contact). One of my friend lost an eye because he was trying to melt glass with a lighter, and it exploded in his face. Else, it works good. You can just light up the top of your weed and stop lighting.
Like I said I'm going to get a acrylic bong with a metal bowl/stem, for mobility. Won't use it at home(simply no need, I don't have a fucking storm or such in my room :downs:).
I'll just try it out.
Torch lighters are great, as long as you know how to properly use them. You really don't have to burn for long, as it cherries the weed almost instantly, and you'd just pooch it if you'd light for your whole hit, unless you have a huge fucking bowl.
Torches are also great for clearing bowls, and smoking outside in the wind. I'd suggest that you have one, but a regular lighter is always good too.
I remember reading a fair bit about them when I was trying to see if they work with vaporgenies. Turns out that they actually burn at about the same temperature as regular lighters, just more constant heating. So really, it'd come down to personal preference.
They're nice in windy areas.
I got a really awesome looking one in japan, it's worked beautifully plus it's just fucking cool
You should get one just because they look badass.
i have one and i love it and everyone i know loves it

Well I just checked the shop today, turns out they don't have all the stuff from their page in their shop, since there's a bigger on in Bremen.
Anyways, might pick up some other one in a tobacco shop right here in my hood.

I hate it when people hold my torch lighter so close to their joint or bowl they burn their own face or fingers. Jet lighter flames are tricky so learn how to use one or dont use it at all.

i wouldn't think lighting a joint with one of these would be a great idea in the first place; you'll destroy the damn thing

nah you lightly skim it with the flame. You only have to get close to it
My brother had one when I was younger so I know how the flame acts. You don't actually hold the flame onto the cigar/joint whatever, you just use the heat coming from the flame to heat it up.

When I was lighting joints with a jet lighter the other day, I didn't even need to touch the flame to it. Just had it kid of close and took a few drags until it started glowing on the tip.
Standard lighter is easier to handle. In my opinion anyway

my jetflame lighter is the same size and shape as a regular lighter and works in exactly the same way, so i disagree
I can guarantee some fools will use one of these on a soda can and kill themselves since (unlike normal lighters) these will burn aluminum.

other than that, good.
Don't actually touch the flame to the weed, hold it an inch away so the heat hits it.
