Simon Dudley, leader of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, had said beggars could show Windsor in an "unfavourable light" when Prince Harry weds Meghan Markle. He won a no-confidence vote on Monday. Paul Brimacombe and Asghar Majeed immediately resigned from the council's Conservative group. The pair will continue as independents. They said in a joint statement: "It was not considered appropriate... to wholeheartedly disagree with the will of the group on this fundamental issue and yet to remain within the group."[/QUOTE] It's not often you see some measure of principle these days, especially from members of the Conservative party.
Wow, modern day conservative politicians showing some spine? What the hell is going on?
As much as I despise the tories, quite a few of them show some very respectable principles that they diligently stand by. It's quite admirable
Don't resign in protest. Instead, bring those rough sleepers into the ceremony as friends of yours. That'd send an even bigger message to these uppity shits who want to tell them off.
