Outlast Developers Now Creating World’s Leading Gamer Diaper
With plenty of assurance that this is, in fact, very real, Underscares are designed to be comfortable, made only from high quality materials, and most importantly, washable. These premium diapers come in two distinct versions, a basic edition that features the logo for Outlast 2 (which is fitting because Outlast is a shitty game), and a deluxe edition that comes with a flashlight. Pledging 55 canadian dollars not only get you the basic diaper, but also a steam key for Outlast 2.
As of this writing, the kickstarter is very close to breaking $2,000 out of a near $30,000 goal. If this gets funded, we could see a real demand for gaming themed diapers outside of this incredibly tactical pair. A quick google search of “gamer diapers” doesn’t come up with any other brands, so while I may be completely wrong, I stake all of journalistic integrity on this statement: if funded, these will be the first ever officially licensed gamer diapers.
i thought it was just a figure of speech
:scream:
Finally.
Why does one of them come with a torch?
now that's marketing

For trying to find back your dignity.

This, I don't know where the fuck all of those steam ratings are coming from.
Romero will make you his bitch etc.
Fuck off.
Outlast 1's ending is one of the worst things ever, but I have higher hopes for OL2.

The DLC was pretty good.
The demo for OL2 had good atmosphere, but it follows every, god damn, fucking, shitty stupid silence bullshit then BWAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR loud sounds to try to shock scare you. It happens WAY TOO FUCKING OFTEN. There's no subtlety to it. When you have it thrown at you constantly, it gets tiresome, and boring instead of scary.

Part of a flight response. Emptying your bowels makes you run faster, not because of the reduced weight but because of the shame of soiling yourself like a baby.

no it's legit
usually if someone is scared enough to be petrified (scared stiff), they will lose control of bowels. i think pissing yourself is more common though. also it's not just people, animals do it too.
this is great marketing and all but the irony is that outlast 1 was one of the least scary games I've played in my life

But Outlast was actually a pretty decent game. It's no Amnesia, it isn't even really all that actually scary for being a horror game, but like Alien: Isolation it was still a pretty damn good game. The only thing that's really all that bad about it is it's horrid ending, which is remedied pretty well by the DLC.

Alien Isolation is better than Amnesia though. The AI for the alien is amazing compared to the enemies in Amnesia that all function on a short cycle before disappearing from the game completely, ruining any tension when you figure it out after the second encounter.
Outlast is not a bad game but imo it has some of the biggest problems with survival-horror nowadays. Besides the jump scares, scripted chase sequences are pretty terrible, and to some people being a complete pussy and not fighting back isn't appealing.
Just my opinion.

Probably people who liked Outlast?

I miss proper survival horror games where you had to carefully manage ammunition, health items and in some cases even save items. It was tense and exciting and something you generally got better at on subsequent playthroughs making replaying those games very rewarding. Hopefully RE7 can sort of bring that back even if it's in first person.

Its pretty okay for indie horror
I hated Outlast 1 and the demo for Outlast 2 didn't make me any more optimistic.
The entire thing feels like they tried too hard with the presentation and not hard enough with the actual content.
It lacks any genuine "oh shit" moments despite trying repeatedly to hammer these down your throat, the shock value is stale, and the stealth segments are drawn out and repetitive.

Yeah it's not scary and I don't understand what it's got going for it otherwise.
Way too much of the game is just finding an arbitrary objective to move on while evading an enemy patrolling the map. It starts reasonably well, hits you over the head with this mechanic 5-6 times while using some transitional areas in between, then ends with a textbook example of how to ruin a story with supernatural themes.
The atmosphere is fine but actually playing the game started to feel tedious early on.
I still think one of the best horror experiences of this kind of is Amnesia Overture and Black Plague played back to back.
The core reason behind this is simply that those games actually have player agency, they aren't just glorified spooky hike simulators where you occasionally have to crouch. There's puzzles, exploration has a goal, and the game spooks you with raw ambiance with very little else getting in the way.
Even Amnesia fucks up in that regard because of the sound design and the overall pacing. Everything's loud and screechy and you can't catch a break because enemies are practically stalking you 24/7 in that game past a couple of hours.

It’s a good game man.
I enjoyed the shit out of this game. I really liked it, despite being very linear.

Pretty sure the devs realized this too since the DLC gives the game the proper ending.

first person don't change anything
everyone makes it sound like it's the end of the world
it's going to be the same
RE4 in first person would have been the same game with better controls
I can just imagine all the twitch streamers buying into this. "OH MY GOD!..........welp, guys I just shit myself. I'll be right back."
