Holy shit, General RAAM just holding the chainsaw with his hand like a badass. Cutscene starts at 2:22
for some reason the fact that there was blood coming out of RAAM's hand as he stopped the chainsaw made me feel queasy
something about the fact that he just doesn't give a fuck + hand gore
this is coming for pc right

Xbone exclusive
I kinda wish they pulled a halo master chief collection with all three original gears game. I would buy in a heartbeat if that was the case.
Xbone exclusive
It's been confirmed to be getting a Windows 10 version. 4K res support, DX12, no framerate locking.

It's also coming to PC, was announced at PC E3 conference

Oh. They need to update the games website then.

They probably won't. Microsoft's weird about saying, "Yeah, this will be coming to PC too," and then advertising games solely as exclusive to Xbox One to sell more consoles.
If i'd updated to Windows 10 I might've considered this, because honestly while the sequels improved on various aspects of multiplayer arguably, the first game felt the most consistent campaign-wise compared to how hectic the other games felt. And even then it was pretty disjointed at times. I also remember the sheer dread I had for those fucking Berserker sections, especially when I played co-op with my brother.

Let's just hope we won't get something shitty, like how bad GFWL was.
I'd be excited if it weren't for the fact that the 1st game didn't have horde mode.
Horde in 3 was the best thing in this series.

Beast Mode was satisfying too. Shame they didn't add General RAAM into BM after what they did in the RAAM's Shadow DLC.

Heres the full cutscene remastered.
Starts at 0:11

Seriously this is probably my top reason out of the few for wanting to get an Xbone. I love the GoW series more than Halo and this Remaster looks incredible and I appreciate their goal with the cutscenes. It really does add more immersion
This looks Good. At first I was a little worried about them re-doing the cinematics, but now... can't wait to see all the new stuff.
The original cutscene looks so.. odd in comparison, albeit this was back in late 2006 and the first major game on the Unreal Engine 3.

BESERKER!!!!
Always loved that cutscene, looks amazing. Can't wait for this to come to the PC. Hopefully it reignites the mod community.
Agreed. I am looking forward to the PC release as well for two reasons, one of which you stated. The modding community and so I'll just save money from not buying the Xbone :v:
Looking at the comparison now I haven't realized that 2006 really showed its age there. It's funny now how used to today's graphics we are when almost 9 years ago we were shitting ourselves on how great games looked then. And they still look pretty great now too but you can almost pick out the "scripted events" in the cutscenes. One way to put it I guess as I'm sure there's another way to accurately describe what I'm thinking there.
Kim looks like Keegan Michael Key
Why is their armor completely black instead of blue with black accents?
[editline]14th July 2015[/editline]
Nevermind I never really noticed that it was the same in the original game too. Only Kim and Baird (and the nameless grunts) really had the blue armor. But Baird's armor in the remaster is the blackest one of them all.
I wonder how long it will take before the current gen gets original games.
Eh, I really don't like the changes they made in the cutscene. The fact that they let Kim see Raam and try and attack him rather than him be caught off-guard didn't have the same impact. The whole point of the scene was to show the boss you were going to fight kill your friend/leader so you want revenge. The fact that he didn't have a chance to fight back, and the almost overkill sword that he used to kill him, further made you want to avenge him. They also removed the good camera angles out between showing Raam and Kim then panning to Marcus reacting.
Speaking of, the models look really...off. Doms face looks abnormally chubby, and the facial expressions as a whole look really mild.

in the original it seemed really dumb that this giant hulk of a locust could just sneak up behind a guy and kill him. at alteast now Kim actually tries to fight back instead of dying like a bitch

Didn't they confirm they are adding some parts of Gears 3 into this, Like Horde mode and stuff?

1 Day after Xbox Zero and PS5
After Master Chief collection had five games for $60, one remastered nine year old game for $40 seems pretty weak.
The reason why Judgement failed so hard is because the failed to improve on what made Gears 3 an outstanding game. I play Gears 3 to this very day, i boot up TDM or Horde Mode sometimes. If they can't make improvements in balance and design in the Remake's multiplayer then i probably won't buy this. Judgement was much worse though. Seriously? Taking the locust out? What idiot did that?
Gears 1's multiplayer for its time was great, but it seems hilariously dated when you take into account Gears 3 (although the Retro Lancer, Flame Nade and DB needed balancing.) and without horde mode, i might pick up the Rare collection instead. I love Gears 1, but i will probably drop it after the campaign and boot up Gears 3 from time to time. I wasn't that impressed with the Multiplayer beta.
Great Cutscenes though, i can imagine it was very tempting to slap a bit of new paint on her and have do with that but its good that they are thinking about it differently.
And in the original Marcus witnesses Raam approach and fails to do anything.
I prefer that Kim tried to fight Raam, because it showed just how futile that is.
The baby faces bother me a bit though.

I still play the co-op for Gears 3 because of the mutators. If 3 were to ever come to PC then I'd love to see community mutators for Horde, co-op or Beast Mode. Bitchslapping a Beserker with just a pistol resulting in an insta-gib is always fun.

It's like the ending of Gears 3... :v:

Its been confirmed that Gears UE will NOT be getting horde mode.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has a full multiplayer suite, so attendees wanted to know why it doesn’t include a Horde mode – the series’ calling card.
“We didn’t want it to creep too much into Gears of War 2 territory,” Fergusson said, according to Polygon.
Gears of War 2 introduced a significant number of new enemy types to the game, Fergusson said. A Horde Mode for the first game would feel sadly lacking in variety without all those new baddies.
Also I do miss RAAM's pointing in the remade cutscene, even if it served no real purpose
