This video was make by kaptainkristian for IGN a few days ago. I figured it flew under the radar for some of you so I'll post it in here.
Ign? That's surprising.
I love how, after watching just a single Kaptainkristian video, I can immediately recognize his videos just from the title. And, as always, video is great.
Ign? That's surprising.
I'm not, with how good his content his and with at least a million views combined with only 5 videos out, I figured someone would take notice.
I love comics and animation so I'm glad a channel this good popped up. Love these videos.

I regret not subscribing to this guy back when he made the Pixar video, these videos are really well made.
The only thing this doesn't pick up on is Batman was absolutely overexposed at this time, and considered by most to be damaged in a way that would be irretrievable for a couple of decades other than as a cheap licensed toy cow, which is why HBO passed on it. The only reason this saw the light of day is the perseverance of Timm, Burnett and MacCurdi is refusing to give up on getting it out, and that FOX was desperate for ANYTHING (this was before Power Rangers) that could compete with the lock that CBS and ABC had on kid's programming, and it turned out to be multi-generational exegesis for what Batman is. Pretty goddamn amazing.
Him sucking Iron Man's dick is a fairly new thing however prob movie related.
that dynamic was taken right out of the comic though with an older peter, sure, but still
I don't know why he said Spiderman is outclassed by almost all of the Avengers. Because really Spider-man outclasses the majority of the Avengers. I don't know why he said that and I don't know if he meant in terms of actual strength or in terms of heroics but Spidey definitely outclasses the majority of the Avengers. Like the only way that makes any feasible sense is if he's talking about in the movie(s) alone or maybe in the Ultimate universe of comics.
I think generally speaking the video is just giving the broad context of the character. After all, he's not really a kid anymore in the comics what with being married and so forth. He's a big hero that everyone knows, but he still usually sticks to New York City unless someone gets his help or something huge forces him to act elsewhere. A vigilante with proverbial star power and a tremendous legacy built over 50 years of the comic industry, compared to the superhero squad made of almost-as-big or bigger legends essentially designed to save the world altogether on a repeated basis. Plus, you know, he's kind of a fanboy.
I remember when i watched Heart of Ice, it made me fucking cry, that's how good it is.
Also I don't get the whole Spider Man is Pete's teenage angst. I think the comics reinforce time and time again that Peter is Spidey and Spidey is Peter. Peter is honestly a smartass in and out of costume. He'd insult Flash a lot back in high school and say some extremely confident shit to girls back then. I don't understand where the idea that Peter was this ultra beta kid really came from
Peter does shout back at Flash, but he doesn't always "win" those fights. The point still stands: all of his incredible powers can't help him in his "real" life. I agree, the nerd angle, in the first few years of the comic, is a lot more subdued than people imagine (really surprised me tbh), but he's still, by all means, far from being the popular kid. I think he's right in saying Spider-man is Peter expressing his teenage angst, I don't think he was trying to say that's all Spider-man is (he did, after all, say the identities of Peter and Spidey are more intertwined than most other superheroes). Remember that Parker's thoughts of "if only they knew" are a really common sight in the early comics.
Anyone know where 1:03 comes from? That animation is really cool.
It's in one of the openings from the MMO Marvel Heroes
The background music doesn't work well with the video. The high-hats are far too distracting.
