Well it isn't that bad, just a bit cheesey IMO.
I don't hate it but a lot of people find it far too cheesy and gay for metal.

Dragonforce is to power metal what the Black Out Band is to rock.
I don't hate power metal at all, I just choose not to listen to it because of the very high level of cheese. I like to listen to Manowar when driving with my father and singing along loudly to their lame songs, though.
Because everyone likes different things.
I enjoy some powermetal. Especially Sonata Arctica (my cousin teached the current drummer how to play the drums, I got all of their latest albums for free + a shitload of autographs). It fits quite nicely to have it in the background when reading something from David Eddings or David Gemmell.
Some are good
most have terrible lyrics and is incredible uninspired
but some are good

Sonata Artica are awesome.
God damn it, i love Sonata Arctica. I'll admit some power metal bands are kinda cheesy but theres many really enjoyable power metal bands, like Kamelot.
Bands like DragonForce don't represent the genre too well, they mix it with a [B]lot[/B] of speed metal. Speed metal and power metal are different.
Helloween and Steel Attack are the only power metal bands I listen to besides HatdargonForce.

Edguy is pretty good aswell.
Because some people haven't heard Helloween, Stratovarius or Edguy as opposed to Dragonforce.

i dont mind it really,
hell i'll listen to studioforce when im bored,
they cant really play live though and herman li is a very overrated guitarist, but the shit makes my ears happy

Yeah, Dragonforce and their cheese-laden songs sorta ruined power metal for everyone else.. There are good power metal bands though
Possibly because its just a bit cheesey. But realistically its all a bit of fun.
Moar hate towards hair metal though.
