One of the highest scoring Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players in the US has decided to reset his stats following an onslaught of abuse from jealous players, reports suggest

A player by the name of Retrominano, who is cited in the media as "the number one ranked Black Ops 2 player on the Xbox 360", has recently been unable to log in to his account following a surge of DDoS attacks from members of the community.
According to information published on Reddit, Retrominano had also been subjected to personal harassment when going online.
New images of his profile show that his score has been reset.
Microsoft's advice on DDOS attacks reads: "We recommend that you reset your Internet router and contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you know who initiated the DoS or DDoS attack, you may also want to submit a player review to Xbox Live and avoid the attacker in the future".
Yesterday, upcoming Black Ops 2 DLC was detailed in a since-pulled product listing on Amazon UK. Featuring four new multiplayer maps, plus a fresh Zombies level and weapon, the Revolution DLC is expected to hit Xbox 360 first on January 29.
If it was legit, I kinda feel bad for him
This is why we can't have nice things.
Maybe if he was determined he could get one of the people DDODS'ing him arrested and the others would back off.
Because that's truly the way to respond to something like this.
"He's better than me? Let's harass him!"

So basically
Fucked if we can do anything *shrug*
Sadly it happens all the time with anything.

in allot of more competitive online games, you beginning winning turns the enemy team into a whine fest who want to make the rest of the one sided match a miserable experience just because you had the audacity to be good in a video game.
That player review thing on the 360 is complete and utter bullshit. I've ran into actual "hackers" before that would activate god mode and all that other bullshit in-game. Lo and behold they're still playing.
CoD players ain't got shit on EVE players. Cutting power lines before fleet battles is how you get the job done.
This is just sad, it's only a game. I admit, when I play CS:GO I get pretty frustrated when I get stuck in a slump, but I would never shit on anybody who is legitimately better than me.

source?
First world problems
Reminds me of how I was bitched at on a MW2 match after scoring a nuke twice in two rounds.
Everyone went against me. Even team mates.
what the fuck
"let's ddos this guy because he played this game longer, and enjoys it more than me, and is better than me"
what fucking asshole does this

Got a source on this? Now I am interested.

Is Xbox Live that poorly designed that shit like this can happen? or is this possible with every multiplayer networking system?

How low can you go?

I dunno if FP is fond of cracked or anything, but speaking of EVE I think this right here is the best story to ever come out of that game

What is the Majority of CoD players? And how do they react when they get their ass kicked?
Exactly.
That's smart

Was that posted from a wooden computer in the middle of Nigeria after a group of pirates raided your village?
ontopic...
You know players take shit too seriously when they resort to this just because you have the highest stats in the game.
Out of curiosity - how would you DDoS an Xbox player's account? I mean, DDoS'ing a PC is obvious as you just have to target an IP, but how does it work for an Xbox based account? Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I severely doubt I'm ever gonna touch that game, but damn there's some hilarious and creative stories to be found there.

iirc black ops is peer2peer
so wireshark enough games with him being the only constant, you'll get a IP
