Gee I wonder what gave them the idea
Gee I wonder what gave them the idea
I doubt they made this within a year.
Still, not exactly the best move to reveal a remake only when a year ago you did a takedown against a fan remake of the same game and that thought is still bitterly left in other people's minds.
or you know maybe they took it down to protect their ip or something because of an upcoming remake of their own
honestly doesnt look as good as am2r. its fine though, we already have am2r, its wonderful for anyone who wants to play it especially on PC, having this too im sure will be great for fans with nintendo hardware.

Shutting down a fan remake because they're doing an official remake is much better than shutting down a fan remake and then leaving the original game alone.
Well they're not just going to go up and cancel a game they've been working on just because of some controversy.
I know that but it's still just an eerie coincidence that came at a rather inopportune time; maybe if it was instead given another year before reveal then it wouldn't feel so off? I'm not a Metroid fan but I know this is only going to fuel the fire for some, well reasoned or not.
Yeah, I feel bad now for those first two posts. This is really looking good so far and it's cool that Nintendo is actually going through with the idea of a Metroid 2 remake.
nintendo: heres two metroid games now leave us alone god fuck edit: i just realized i made this same joke in another thread im dumb

The graphics look like shit imo. Im sure it will be a fun game but damn.
nintendo: heres two metroid games now leave us alone god fuck edit: i just realized i made this same joke in another thread im dumb
Not until they give us F-Zero again.
I really wanted a 2D Metroid game on the 3DS; gave up hoping after the Switch got released - really glad this is happening! Too bad it's not 60 fps, though
The graphics look like shit imo. When you actually get to play these on a 3DS they look fine due to the small screen.

Plus they should be using the N3DS horsepower by now to fix some of that.
I wonder if it will be possible to do any sequence breaking like you can in the older titles.
Metroid fusion pls
I wonder if it will be possible to do any sequence breaking like you can in the older titles.
Speedrunners will most likely find it, intentional or not.
Oh shit. I've been going on and on amongst friends how I've wanted to see a 2D Metroid game with a melee attack. And they've done it. The mad men
Gameplay starts at 10:30
Dammit, I just sold my 3DS the other week.
Dammit, I just sold my 3DS the other week.
good thing they're releasing the new 2ds xl soon
i'm super psyched to have another 2d metroid, kinda bummed out that its not 2d sprite work though. the metroid series is known for its fucking sick 2d artwork.
I wonder if it will be possible to do any sequence breaking like you can in the older titles.
Just remembered this event that can be accesible only through sequence breaking. Although Fusion was more guided by character interaction, would be a nice touch in this remake to use them (assuming it has) in one way or another for more than just shortcuts.
