A few weeks ago I went to the long closed Odeon in Aylesbury. It's an art deco building which closed in 1999. I think they want to demolish it, but I believe it's listed.
It has 3 screens - 2 small ones and one larger. The seats are sooo comfortable - nothing like what you get today.
It was such a nice day that we spent about half an hour just chilling (roasting) out on the roof. It was great to just watch the world go by.
There are 87 pictures here, some of which contain dead pigeons. If you don't like looking at dead pigeons, you've had your warning.
The first 50 pictures (More will follow after first post):
The only way into the building, with a nice nail sticking out:

Pigeons, alive and dead, start here. The ground was covered in three inches or pigeon shit. It smelled so bad, it was unbelieveable. This one was nesting on two eggs.

More to follow.
I wish there was cool shit like this near me
what's with the dumb bird-photos
All in all we saw about 20 dead pigeons.

I'm guessing this one has been dead for a long time.

We weren't welcome in the pigeon offices upstairs. There were hundreds fleeing through broken windows and doors when we got close.

These four weren't too alarmed by our being there. They stayed put, watching us carefully as we walked past.

ROADBLOCK.

That's it - if you want any larger versions of any of these pictures, let me know and I'll upload it.
Thanks for reading.
Nice shoes.
Big mistake with the birds, mate. Get yourself checked out by a doctor, Pidgeons carry a myriad of diseases.

This was weeks ago, pigeon related diseases usually occur within a week.
I would have found it hard not to stamp on the pigeon eggs. Disgusting things. I wouldn't have gone as far as to kill live ones though.

Well really they are the heads of the ad strips, because a 30/60s ad won't fit on a few frames. The head contains a countdown and info on the reel.
The projectionist will seal the single reels together into a big real and run it through.
Nice shots though
Seemed good fun.
The roadblock of pigeons made me laugh.
I'm ashamed at myself :sigh:

Should have worn a mask Bengley :cop:
I hope to shit you wore a respirator. That place looks absolutely volatile.
I think a FP london meetup where we go urban exploring would be pretty kickass.

He didn't, and he said there was asbestos.
I've already told this to him in MSN but always bring a P2 or P3 with you just in case!

Even if the rules of Urbex say don't take stuff, that projector is really tempting.
this will be my new favorite reaction image

See the freezer for the ice cream? go back and bash the copper\steel piping in the back with a steel bar.

It's bigger than a person, very heavy, has it's workings torn out and has been sitting unused in a damp building for 10 years. It's also bigger than the only window.
Oh man, be careful. Pigeon lung and hantavirus are serious business.
Very nice images, also i have that exact same headlamp
