Please may someone make me a logo with a transparent background. I need it to encorporate the words "Aperture Gaming" and "Solving Games, With Science" It needs to be longer than it is tall and needs to have the blue/white/grey theme to it, also please can it have the logo somewhere. Thank you.
Are you versed in copyright law? What are you planning on using this for?
Are you versed in copyright law? What are you planning on using this for?
I'm sure that's not an issue in this situation.
I'm sure that's not an issue in this situation.
Quite right. Just for your infomation i do not plan to rip anything or use anything of theirs, its just a logo, proper credit will be given throughout the site and its content. This is in no way affiliated with Portal, Portal 2 or its contents.

FYI giving credits means shit. If you use copyrighted content without permission, if the holder wants to, they can sue your ass.
They can, but i actually highly doubt that they will, unless it is something that they make money or goods off.
If you use this on your website, and you make any money off of this website from ad revenue or anything, you may be sued. I've heard of companies finding their copyrighted material in use, digging up some $0.10 profit made off of some ad on the website in question, and suing for hundreds of thousands.
[img_thumb]http://horobox.co.uk/u/failboat_1303438935.png[/img_thumb]
Very nice. Thanks for this. [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] Could you please change it to Aperture Gaming Instead, Thanks.

Fansites are welcome :)
No, its going to be a new community. Anything wrong with that, if i make it clear that it has nothing to do with Portal, Valve or anything.
No, its going to be a new community. Anything wrong with that, if i make it clear that it has nothing to do with Portal, Valve or anything.
Then you have no rights to use their name or logo?
That why i changed it to Aperture Gaming.
That logo can't be copyrighted, it's far too common. The same goes to the word "Aperture" which is a general photography term and could not be registered as a trademark. Chill.

Yea ok, sorry i only just read what you ment. Thanks.
If valve cared about fansites using their logos then we wouldn't have these sites: http://www.interlopers.net/ http://www.halflife2.net/ http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/hl2/ http://www.hlfallout.net/

If you're planning to have games and stuff under the title Aperture Gaming, using Valve's logo, I hope they do stomp you. If you're not even going to make the logo yourself, you may as well request something original. "Solving Games, With Science" sounds stupid as well. A game != a single puzzle
A game != a single puzzle
Is it common to use that notation for "is not equal to" in this forum? I have mainly seen it notated as "=/=." Though, "!=" makes more sense.
No idea dude, you've been here longer than me. I just think it looks neater.
To be honest i find != easier than =/=. It depends what languages you code it.
!= in php is 'not equal'
!= in php is 'not equal'
And c# and I'm sure 90% of other languages
