But this study adds to a growing body of evidence that a range of creatures can cope with the near-freezing temperatures, immense pressures and complete darkness. Dr Robert Turnewitsch, one of the authors of the paper from the Scottish Association for Marine Science, said: "The deepest parts of the deep sea are certainly not dead zones."
Yikes, freaky how deep that truly is.
If I had terminal disease I'd like to get a personal submarine and go down there and let it implode.
If furries can live in Memphis, something can live in The Trench.
Psychrophiles are cool
I have a sneaking suspicion that there's something really, really awesome down there that'll blow our minds when we find it. No clue what it'd be, though.
For now, it's just giant amoeba and shrimp. It's scary to think what else they'll find if they look harder.
For now, it's just giant amoeba and shrimp. It's scary to think what else they'll find if they look harder.
Cthulhu?
Of course there is life down there. We've known there were fish down there since at least the 60's during the Trieste dive. Pretty sure anyway.
Life finds a way.
Cthulhu?
I look forward to the Cthulhu Calamari.
Although Cameron didn't see any fish during his longer dive than the Trieste. I do think they're out there though. I don't see why they wouldn't
I thought this was already known.
i guess they must have found the door that james cameron found in challenger's deep.
i guess they must have found the door that james cameron found in challenger's deep.
yeah, it leads to Pandora

They found Rapture.
Life finds a way.
Dinosaurs confirmed for living in Marianas Trench.
So this is where the endless stream of Dota2 pubbers come from.
Dinosaurs confirmed for living in Marianas Trench.
hold on to your butts
Not really surprised
Cthulhu?
They won't find him for very long.
They won't find him for very long.
Cthulhu got fucked up by the mast of a ship last time so i think we'd be okay. seriously though, compared to the other shit we might see at the bottom of the trench, he's the kind of Great Old One who's scared of spiders - dude couldn't even squish two measly Norwegian sailors when the odds were 100% stacked in his favor, he had to get some Persian assholes to do it for him.

they're all dota players
I hope they'll find my wallet.
Don't let BP anywhere near that place.
Still not as deep as Neon Genesis' plot
I wouldn't go too deep, there might be a terror down there too powerful for us to deal with
