Justice Democrats cohered after the 2016 election, when Uygur began talking to veterans of the presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) about ways to challenge Democrats from the left. The Justice Democrats project counts Saikat Chakrabarti and Zack Exley, two tech veterans of the Sanders campaign, among its founders; their first goal was to provide the infrastructure and resources for progressives who wanted to challenge “corporate Democrats.” The Justice Democrats platform mirrors much of what Sanders ran on, some of which had been adopted into the 2016 Democratic platform. Where Sanders called for renegotiating trade deals, the platform doubles down. Democrats have called for infrastructure spending; the platform calls for the party to “invest billions in rebuilding our crumbling roads, bridges, schools, levees, airports etc.” It goes even further than Sanders, however, in asking candidates to ban foreign aid to human rights violators.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2017/01/23/progressives-launch-justice-democrats-to-counter-primary-corporate-legislators/?utm_term=.90d5c014aa11

Gotta take back the Dems somehow.
I like the idea but I hate Cenk. He's an insane genocide denier....
I like the idea but I hate Cenk. He's an insane genocide denier....
I'm not sure why Turks get so fucking triggered when one brings up the Armenian Genocide...even conservative Americans don't deny the atrocities committed by the U.S. toward the Native Americans.
Completely off-topic but I can't see that logo without being reminded of the FSA from the DMZ Comic.

He wrote papers on it in 1991 and he says he retracts his original statements. He said he's not going to comment on it anymore on the basis of "I don't know anything about it so..."
Care to elaborate?
Oh you probably think that I mean that the Armenian Genocide is propaganda, my bad. No, the Armenia Genocide was real. Just the denial about the Armenian Genocide was propaganda pushed by the Turkish Government.

I approve of the movement and I personally agree with Kyle on a lot of issues. Cenk on the other hand...
Cenk doesn't deny it anymore and back when he did was when he was hard right, he used to hate feminism, gun control, democrats and such too but funny enough people don't bring those things up when shitting on Cenk. I'm not big on Cenk either but outside of politics he's a good dude, I don't see this getting anywhere though.
I have my doubts about this, the establishment Dem's will fight tooth and nail to prevent the democrats becoming a populist left party. Remember when tere were whipsers about a Bloomberg run? That was back when it seemed possible that both Bernie and Trump would win their parties' primaries. When it became obvious that Hillary would be the Democratic candidate he suddenly came out and denied the rumors. Polls showed that a Bloomberg run would give Trump an overwhelming EC victory, which shows how far the establishment was willing to go to ensure both major parties aren't taken over by populists.

The GOP establishement was largely taken over by the Tea Party (populist right movement), which primaried the more moderate GOP candidates and defeated them, after Obama's election.
