US special forces have carried out two separate raids in Africa targeting senior Islamist militants, American officials say.
In Libya, US commandos captured an al-Qaeda leader accused of the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
Anas al-Libi was reportedly seized in the capital Tripoli.
And a leader of the al-Shabab group was targeted in southern Somalia, but that raid appears to have failed.
The al-Shabab leader - who has not been identified - is suspected of involvement in last month's attack in the Westgate shopping centre in Kenya's capital Nairobi, which left at least 67 people dead.
They found the guy already? That was quick.

Yeah, reading more carefully might suggest that that particular raid failed. They didn't find anyone linked with the kenyan mall attack.
(I'm assuming you were talking about that particular event. I'd have thought you have a weird concept of time if you were referring to the attack in 1998...)
Looks like not all portions of the government were shutdown.

you don't shut down the military that's a recipe for disaster
You might want to look a little bit more into this government shutdown thing instead of just reading the headlines.

The US doesn't need their overinflated terror inducing military budget.
The US is a bigger terror organization than the ones they're chasing combined.

It's a jab at humor.
Not a criticism of actual government operations.
To Guantanamo with him

well to be fair i don't think the military would really matter much if someone launched a nuke since, you know, we'd all die horribly pretty much right away
