When Interpol issued an arrest warrant earlier this week for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, the international police agency charged him with "sex crimes" but didn't specify the offense any further, prompting rumors that he had been accused of rape. He hadn't. "It turns out," Washington's Blog reports, that "it was for violating an obscure Swedish law against having sex without a condom." During a business trip to Stockholm last August, Assange had unprotected sex with two women (a bizarre and painfully detailed account is available on the Daily Mail's Web site) who upon realizing that they had both slept with him—and that he had blown them both off—jointly approached police about his refusal to take an STD test. At the time, Assange's Swedish lawyer confirmed that "the principal concern the women had about Assange's behavior … related to his lack of interest in using condoms and his refusal to undergo testing, at the women's request, for sexually transmitted disease." (Assange actually did use a condom with one of the women, but it broke.) This, apparently, is hazy legal territory in Sweden. While the "consent of both women to sex with Assange has been confirmed by prosecutors," as a former attorney wrote in an impassioned op-ed, Assange has been charged with something called "sex by surprise," which reportedly carries a $715 fine. According to Assange's London attorney, Mark Stephens, prosecutors have yet to explain the charges or meet with the WikiLeaks chief to discuss them, which he's agreed to do. "Whatever 'sex by surprise' is, it's only an offense in Sweden—not in the U.K. or the U.S. or even Ibiza," Stephens fumed. "I feel as if I'm in a surreal Swedish movie being threatened by bizarre trolls."
(yes, it is all one paragraph) Source is here.
sex by surprise
:smug:
I'd suck this man's dick if i was a woman.
I'd suck this man's dick if i was a woman.
I will remember that for future events.
that bastard
Honestly, now they're just trying to bust him on obscure technicalities. Can't governments just bend over and take their spankings like good children anymore? Instead they just sling mud! If they were my kids, i'd refer them to a psychologist.
So he's up on Interpol because a condom broke? Looks like everyone saying that no one's pulling strings is an idiot.
I bet it was in the missionary position too, that sick fuck.
Worst smear campaign ever
The single most powerful man right now (I mean that, for all we know he has information that could crush alliances around the world) has only one crime against him, broken condom.
an obscure Swedish law against having sex without a condom
I figured out why Sweden has less and less Swedes every year protip: it isn't the immigrants
At least he blew the women off.
So Assange, not only he's awesome, but he's a bro
I say plead guilty to the charges then go to jail in sweden he'd live like a king and be protected
I like this guy even more now!
What're they complaining about, I wouldn't mind 'sex by surprise' with Assange. Plus they got to fuck an international celebrity (basically, or villain, I guess according to most). Who would get pissed at that?
An interesting point about this is that according to Gizmodo (dunno what their source is) the crime does not carry a jail term if found guilty, and according to news reports on the EU arrest warrant for one to be put out the crime in question must carry at least a 12 month prison sentence. I can see why the police in the UK seem to be reluctant to do anything but ask for more info.
CondomLeaks.
CondomLeaks.
a deluge of new information
CondomLeaks.
Damn Gizmodo Also
Updated: The Swedish prosecution office has now issued a notice saying that they are going to officially charge Assange with rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion. This completely changes the matter. Here's their note: The matter concerning Mr. Assange The Matter concerning Julian Assange has been detained in his absence charged with rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion. Mr Assange had appealed the detention decision issued by Svea Court of Appeal. Today the Supreme Court has taken a decision not to grant Julian Assange leave to appeal. If the Supreme Court is to hear an appeal, leave to appeal must first be granted. Leave to appeal is only granted if the case is assessed as being very important to the application of the law or if other extraordinary reasons apply. The arrest warrant is based on the detention decision that has now been examined by all three legal instances. The additional information requested by the British Police concerns the penalties for the other crimes, in addition to rape, that Julian Assange was arrested for. This information will be supplied immediately. The previous arrest warrant stands.

that Julian Assange was arrested for.
They know where he is now! :byodood:
the whole thing is just fail. there giving him publicity, most people know that its being done way out of proportion because some one is pulling there strings and now it looks like there making up the charges as they go and the fact, even if they did take him out, he's just one of 100'000's that work for wikileaks and op's avatar is surprisingly fitting
That's pathetic.
Wow this is getting dodgier by the minuite.
I'd suck this man's dick if i was a woman.
He deserves to get sucked off no matter who you are.
He's a pretty good looking guy, I must say
$715? He could probably get that in a donation box in a matter of hours.
I bet it was in the missionary position too, that sick fuck.
I heard there even reports of spooning!
The single most powerful man right now
lol
What're they complaining about, I wouldn't mind 'sex by surprise' with Assange. Who would get pissed at that?
Yeah, women should be happy to be raped if the person is famous! And everyone knows all women are sluts that brag about the people they fucked EVEN THOUGH THOSE STUPID WHORES WON'T SLEEP WITH ME GOD I HATE WOMEN.
lol
I think he might be right, well maybe he isn't the MOST powerful man right now, but he does seem to have the power to make major governments get very worried and I would say that does make him sort of rather powerful.
