There were an estimated 5,000 people in that crowd in Denver, gathered to hear socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders speak. And speak he did. This from the Denver Post: Breathing a progressive political fire, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders ignited Colorado supporters with a blistering condemnation of billionaires and corporations, drawing a crowd of nearly 5,000 to Denver — the largest of his Democratic presidential campaign since the May kickoff. And as the story notes, while this crowd was the largest for Sanders since he began running for president last month, it's far from the only big crowd he has drawn. More than 3,000 people were at a Sanders event in Minneapolis at the end of May. Earlier this month, more than 700 people were at a Sanders rally at Drake University in Iowa. In early June, an overflow crowd turned out to hear Sanders in Keene, New Hampshire.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/06/22/5000-people-came-to-hear-bernie-sanders-speak-in-denver-and-that-means/
they were all high weren't they [editline]22nd June 2015[/editline] they were all high [editline]22nd June 2015[/editline] i find it funny that the right's attacks on sanders consist mostly of making fun of his appearance guess they really just can't find anything intelligent to argue about
Pretty good for a guy who originally hoped to just pull Clinton to the left a bit.
i find it funny that the right's attacks on sanders consist mostly of making fun of his appearance
And his age, they can't make up their minds whether socialists are old 60s throwbacks or entitled millenial idealists.
Man I hope he wins
Man I hope he wins
he won't :/
And his age, they can't make up their minds whether socialists are old 60s throwbacks or entitled millenial idealists.
Which is funny, since they worship Ronal Reagan, who was in the early stages of Alzheimer's when he left office.
he won't :/
Not with that attitude.
Just please don't vote for someone else because you think Bernie will lose
He actually has a chance to win and that's nice. If I was an american, I'd vote for him.
he won't :/
If he gets the democratic nomination like he hopes to then he almost certainly will. Hopefully the democrats are watching and can tell that both republicans and democrats hate Hillary and will make the right choice. Because she has absolutely no chance of winning the election.
He might be my pick for 2016, but I guess that depends on how things shape up from now until then. Alot of shit can change over a year. I just hope the pick isn't as terrible as 2012. I voted for Obama purely because I couldn't find anyone that would be BETTER than him.
"Biggest of the campaign so far" It is still veerryy early in the election cycle, we're still more than 6 months from the first primary/caucus and the expected juggernauts like Hillary haven't even really started their campaign machine up. While this is a good sign early on, it's no where near a good sign for the election over all.
If he wins democratic primary, I'll be happy as hell. Of all the candidates I've seen, he's the most respectable.
I think what I admire most about Sanders is that he isn't afraid to take a stand on something before it's poll-tested and he actually is capable of defending his ideas, not to mention his consistency something every windsock politician in DC lacks. His taking back of "family values" is a really effective piece of political gamesmanship and another example of how flatfooted and inept Democrats are at that kind of political strategy. I hold no illusions about how difficult it will be for him, but he's a breath of fresh air in the stale fart filled room of American politics
Recent polls show he is in second for the Democratic nomination, however Hillary is dominating by a landslide. The polls currently show 61.9% of democrats for her and Bernie at a distant 11.7%. As others have said though, the wheels are just starting to turn. If he can remain as one of the top 3 democrats more will hear his voice, and inevitably the race between him and Hillary will be much closer than it is now.
Vote in your goddamn primaries.
Not with that attitude.
Even if you get voters like us off our asses and to the polls he still won't win. He's too far left for typical democrats to vote for him and he's registered Independent, and the last time an independent won the Oval Office was like 150 years ago. He'll flounder and fail like the flubs in the green party. I'd bet that Vermin Supreme would gather more votes than him.

Bernie is someone that I dont fully agree with but completely respect as an individual and as a politician. It's sad that he's only candidate I can say this for over 8 years.
So glad I can give my first vote to somebody who's not a complete idiot.
I really wish i could vote there
For once I've actually found a politician I legitmately like
I might not totally agree with Bernie but by God if he isn't honest. That's something that's sorely lacking in most of today's politicians.
Whether he wins or not is irrelevant, if you believe he's the best candidate, vote for him. Even though he probably won't win, if he gets a high % then people will take him and future candidates like him more seriously - and hopefully branch into addressing their viewpoints/issues far more seriously.
So glad I can give my first vote to somebody who's not a complete idiot.
I meant to rate that agree, sorry 'bout that.
Can it u fuckin nerd and fight me in real life
Fine, meet me at CNN HQ when they announce that Sanders lost the nomination for the Democrat party.
I'm afraid Sanders will be the 2016 Ross Perot; taking votes away from the democratic candidate and leading to a republican victory. I'm fine with Clinton, I'm fine with Sanders, but I'm not fine with whatever the Republican party will conjure up.
I'm not fine with Clinton, so I will be voting for Bernie.

In the end I predict it will be Sanders vs. Bush, where Bush's primary advantage is that he's a Bush, on top of the fact that he's pretty much already decided that he's appointing Dubya as his foreign relations adviser in order to appeal to the crowd that actually MISS that little imp, so much in the same way that Hilary is riding on Bill's success, so too is Jeb riding on his brother's "success". Furthermore, anyone who thinks the country as a whole is tired of the Bush family, you're half right. There are still a lot of people that can't stomach another Bush in the White House, but for every one of them there's almost bound to be some hyper-conservative guy in the Bible Belt who would've appointed Dubya President-4-Lyfe if they could've. That said, I very much hope that Sanders wipes the floor with Bush, because other than being a Democratic Socialist (which isn't even a terrible thing, but some of the aforementioned Bush supporters just see "socialist" and begin to hyper-ventilate), there's not really much that they can disagree with him on. Hell, he's a Liberal, and he doesn't even want to impose gun legislation, so there's no way they can disagree with him on that. That's the only reason he got as popular as he did, because he could afford to get his name out there. Bernie is making waves with his ideas, not money.

The entire party is behind her. I don't see why 1.) everyone here hates clinton and 2.) everyone here thinks everyone else hates clinton. Candidates I would take clinton over and why: 1. Jeb Bush - family is corporate slaves 2. Rand Paul - Crazy 3. Rick Santorum - Crazy 4. Marco Rubio - Typical Republican 5. Ben Carson - Crazy and Stupid 6. Chris Christie - Typical Republican 7. Ted Cruz - Crazy 8. Lindsay Graham - Crazy 9. Mike Huckabee - Crazy 10. Rick Perry - Crazy 11. Donald Trump - Stupid and Crazy 12. Scott Walker - Evil, Stupid, and Crazy In fact, there are only 3 real democratic candidates right now: Hillary, Sanders, and O'Malley. None of these people are crazy, and the democratic party is mostly united right now.
