Ok I've searched a bit on this and cannot find a straight answer.
Are those home scales that send a pulse through your feet any accurate at measuring your bodyfat and muscle %? What are average values for these things (for someone that does/doesn't work out)?
No.

I remember when one told me I was at 8% bodyfat despite the fact I was quite clearly sitting around 13-15% at the time lmfao

8% bodyfat holy shit ur swole as fuk
Does this work for the online ones which ask you to measure wrist, forearm, hip and waist? If so I'm 7% bodyfat.. haha.
Nope. I used something similar and got 5%, while I had at least 10%
what's the best way to test bf % then? calipers?
DEXA Scanning and hydrodensitometry tests are the most accurate.
Hydrodensitometry would probably be best because of the lower price, going at a place that does these tests, the price will range from 50$ to 75$ for the test but DEXA Scanning will be anywhere in the price range of 200-300$ but it's also much more accurate.
Those work by measuring the resistance of your body.
You can get totally differrent results if you have wet feet as opposed to dry feet.
