http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/valve-registers-gamer-life-the-movie-domains-reveal-may-be-incoming/0101370
Valve appears to be prepping an announcement for an e-sports focused film documentary—an announcement that could very well arrive in the next 24 hours. LamdaGeneration reports that back in July the company registered two domain names for ‘gamerlifemovie.com’ and ‘gamerlifethemovie.com,’ with both domains receiving an update last week. It was also dug up that Valve production crews were filming an unidentified documentary focusing on ‘the life of professional gamers’ in late 2011. The film was reportedly in the early stages of development, and no further details were provided beyond that at the time. Fast forward to this week’s trailer for the latest GameTrailers TV episode in which Geoff Keighley teases an ‘exclusive trailer for a new non-video game project in the works at Valve,’ and the pieces of the puzzle really start to come together. We’ll know for sure after GTTV airs this Thursday night.
Trailer for GTTV: http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/6jublj/gt-tv-valve-on-gt-tv-this-thursday- When GTTV airs in your time zone
I sure hope "Gamer Life: The Movie" is a working title because it's shit.
Hahahaha
Why does anyone think there needs to be a movie about the life of a gamer. Gamers lives aren't that exciting.
omg GamerLifeMovie = 3 words Gamer=half half life 3 movie confirmed
Why does anyone think there needs to be a movie about the life of a gamer. About as interesting as any other sports documentary.
If they're covering like, those crazy hardcore koreans it might be interesting. About as interesting as any other sports documentary.
I hear they use their winnings mostly on women :v:
Sounds like it will be more unpleasant than ricochet just by the name. Please valve, dont do this.
Why does anyone think there needs to be a movie about the life of a gamer. Gamers lives aren't that exciting.
Yes it is, I have killed over 100.000.000.000.000 people, and I don't feel different at all
Let me guess the plot, Man gets home from work sits on ass plays game and eats food. Man goes to bed, man repeats.
Sounds like it will be more unpleasant than ricochet Please valve, dont do this.
But ricochet was the best valve title
It is interesting to see Valve diversifying from games anyway, Half-Life movie 100% confirmed I guess
Also christ Valve, you are having a busy week
Maybe it's a documentary on the hardships and struggles gamers face while waiting an eternity for HL3/episode 3.
"the life of professional gamers" ummm... how about the life of the gamers who want half-life 3. seriously though, I hate e-sports for the same reason as real sports: they're uninteresting and take something nonserious and make it into super serious business.
Woah is Valve doing something stupid? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE
Eh, that's a disappointment.
It's a movie about Half-Life fans waiting for the next game in the series.
Next up video about "Gaben: how to lose weight and grow mighty beard in 10 easy steps."
http://lambdageneration.com/posts/valve-registers-mysterious-gamer-life-the-movie-domain-name-to-be-revealed-on-gametrailers-tv-tomorrow/
Designed to promote e-sports, it allegedly focuses on 5 competitive gamers from all over the globe.

And the rabbit hole might even go a little bit deeper than that. 4 months ago, back in April, Valve hired Ashly Burch, the creator of the comedy web series “Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’”, better known as “HAWP”. Apparently, she’s involved with “an unannounced Valve project“. Now, it might sound like I’m grasping at straws here, but I’d reckon Ashly might just have something to do with this Gamer Life thing. Judging purely from the title, it certainly sounds like something she’d be tackling. And let’s not forget that she is a film director and a writer! It also ties in neatly with the GameTrailers TV episode, seeing how HAWP is syndicated almost exclusively by GameTrailers itself, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ashly interviewed by Geoff as part of the episode.
Imagine tron in a fullbright box map coated in dev textures and hats with light-buggies and mini-crit awps.
valve... valve no...
~~{GamerLife}~~ Hopefully it will flop so that term doesn't get any more used than it already is. I hate the term 'gamer'.
Sounds like Valve it trying to push it's way further into the esports scene. As I would hope that Valve is smart enought to release that a "Gamerlife" movie about pro gamers is infinitely more interesting than following anyone who resembles my couch potato ass.
I sure hope "Gamer Life: The Movie" is a working title because it's shit.
I sure hope it's the real title because it'll be a great title to go with a movie about high school students/college students/the unemployed playing video games all day and smoking weed.
I know Valve had animators, but a filming crew? This sounds pretty stupid.
I know Valve had animators, but a filming crew? This sounds pretty stupid.
Yeah Who needs that shit to make a movie!?
