Games have never done this before.
This will be the best game ever from a technical point of view.
Hopefully the game's complication will prevent people from making sexy reskins.
This game's update videos cease seem to leave me stunned. Really looking forward to this. I wonder if there will be any sort of modding API which would be icing on the cake.
Hopefully the game's complication will prevent people from making sexy reskins.
Couldn't think of anything more random to post?
Hopefully the game's complication will prevent people from making sexy reskins.
Actually I believe they've designed the engine so that creating models in blender and moving it to the Phoenix Engine will be monumentally easier than, say, bringing a model into the Source Engine. Man, I love these devs so much. It's the little things that really make it special. But the big things are pretty kickass too.
I love how they're adding all these tiny details and features into this game, it's going to be awesome
Very neat, it's a wonder nobody has bothered to do this before.
"This isn't very realistic" The dude is playing as a giant humanoid fucking bunny and he has to mention how the weapons have an unrealistic flare effect..?
Looks fucking awesome. I might just preorder this.
Lugaru was one of the first games to feature ragdoll physics. This game will also be forerunner in some parts.
"This isn't very realistic" The dude is playing as a giant humanoid fucking bunny and he has to mention how the weapons have an unrealistic flare effect..?
There's real world realism and fictional realism. Obviously, humanoid bunnies fighting and jumping 100 meters aren't "realistic", but they are fictionally realistic, and they exist at least within this universe. These elements are accounted for in the games story, and therefore when a werewolf runs into sight, people won't complain. However, there's no reason why weapons should flash, and since this game has no HUD, and doesn't display anything except what would actually be visible if the game were real and we were to take photos, it detracts from the fictional realism the game has set up when objects flash for no apparent reason. Hence "This isn't very realistic"

You have to admit it's pretty strange to see an Indie dev excel in the engine and technical aspects of a game, it looks incredibly good, the engine seems to be one of the best to date, every add-on (animation mixing, reactive ragdolls etc.) developed in house and the SDK, from what I have seen, seems to be a massive step up.
Augh.. This looks so good.
This has been taking pretty big leaps lately. Glad I preordered it
brb preordering now. This has sold me, I loved the first one but this is on a whole different level.
The way they executed this is really smart.
Lugaru was one of the first games to feature ragdoll physics.
It most certainly was not
I love these, but the devs always sound so awkward.
I like the flare effect. Reminds me of waterloo 1815 (movie) of the scene just before they go to battle in which you see the opposite armies stand there and their brass reflects in the sun randomly. reference (skip to 05:56):
Can't wait for him to add functioning weapons. Will be a lot of fun combined with the awesome blood system. [editline]3rd May 2011[/editline]
Brutal.
Lugaru was one of the first games to feature ragdoll physics. This game will also be forerunner in some parts.
Haha, No. Lugaru was released in 2005, there's been games with ragdoll physics since 1997.
Haha, No. Lugaru was released in 2005, there's been games with ragdoll physics since 1997.
ONE OF THE FIRST.
I wish I had the money to preorder it :smith: It looks like the most awesome thing ever!
ONE OF THE FIRST.
It still wasn't one of the first, regardless of how many times you state it.
According to wiki the first game with ragdoll physics was Jurassic Park: Tresspasser (1998)
According to wiki the first game with ragdoll physics was Jurassic Park: Tresspasser (1998)
Ah the memories..
This game only gets more impressive.
Haha, No. Lugaru was released in 2005, there's been games with ragdoll physics since 1997.
Oops! I meant Black Shades. Even the developers said that. Also, anyone else messing with the alpha right now? Why aren't the weapons sticking to the ground? At least for me the sticking doesn't work.
Too bad it's going to be a furryfest.
