I swear if you told me that this was a glass bottle massacre then i would believe you.

eh this didn't do anything for me, i like the more in-depth episodes more where he talks about the games/hardware themselves, and not them acting stupid and breaking stuff/fighting..
I can't believe keith is fucking dead

Same here. I enjoy review style AVGN rather than skit only episodes.
I am not that picky, just happy to get new AVGN episodes at all. That said, this episode didn't feel like AVGN to me. Where were his rants? His actual reviews? There was no real talk about how any of the controllers work at all. I enjoyed watching the slapstick humor, but once it was over I was kind of thinking "wait, that's it?".
further evidence that having James Rolfe as a guest on RLM's best of the worst would be the greatest thing ever

His recent reviews were pretty good, such as the the Seaman and Paperboy ones and stuff.

yeah, probably some of the best ones
the only episode pre-"new" avgn i disliked were the nes tournament thing & that annoying old guy that played a coop game with him
non 4:3 non-vhs quality avgn doesn't have as much charm though

Oh when he started these new reviews (after episode 100) I believe they were getting really shit. Such as the Arnold and Toxic Crusaders reviews. They just lacked something.
I think the shittiness of these accessories speaks for themselves. an in-depth review wasn't necessary; they're all just going to boil down to "unresponsive hunks of plastic". might as well get drunk and start smashing shit with them
How can the Nintendo Wii even compete?
While I would have preferred James went indepth with these Sega peripherals I can't say I hated the Nerd and Keith Apicary acting like idiots for ten minutes.
I hope that James was more experimenting with that "review". I really didn't enjoy that episode as much at the recent ones.
I'd have expected a game review of a Christmas game or something like that.
I do prefer when he talks more about the games, I do appreciate when he does something different now and then. This type of slapstick doesn't usually work with me but I found this funny.
That was horrible to watch really. You can tell the effort they've put into this, but it's just bad.
The main thing that got me about this is that he didn't even seem that angry.
Didn't hate it or anything, but it was definitely off.
I mean, I liked it.
The sheer audacity and ridiculousness of it all is where most ofvthe humor comes from. And that fits with all the ridiculous shit peripherals there were for the Genesis.

you're wrong though, in his making of avgn video he reveals that he plays the games before deciding if they're worth doing a video on so it's not like he just picks a number out of a hat and just does whatever. If the subject has no material then he wouldn't even do a video on it.
Also he's done an accessories video before:

He managed to talk about a piece of plastic that holds your controller for you for 1:40 minutes and it was still entertaining.
I mean fuck this video is longer than the one in the OP too and it has no slapstick violence filler.
I could let this episode slide if we still had episodes uploaded regularly. But an episode like this after waiting for awhile just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
It just wasn't good.
Every time James tries to do something new with these videos, people immediately shit all over it. It happened with Ikari Warriors, Toxic Crusaders, the Mega Man one and now this.
If I was James I would really be losing my passion in doing AVGN right now considering people cry whenever he does something that isn't the same old shit. No wonder why he wants to work more on stuff like You Know What's Bullshit and Board James.
Wait, people bitched about the Megaman one? I thought that one was good. I love episodes like that where he goes into the history of something (be it a console or a game series). The skits between reviews felt like the older nerd skits.

the somewhat annoyed video game nerd
I found this episode to be pretty funny, though I do agree that it should have gone into a bit of depth on how bad they actually are. Like giving a short review after all the destruction from overacting.

I said a mix of both would have worked perfectly in this episode, unfortunately they focused too much on the fighting and destruction.
