Interesting video series I found, goes into the history of several inventions and their usefulness in shaping today. The Gun The Computer The Jet The Telephone The Television
how about inventing spelling?
They're incomplete, each episode should be an hour long yet these are 10 minutes, what's the point in watching 1/6th of a documentary?

There's lots of music from Aphex Twin and the 28 Days Later soundtrack in these.
Just finished watching all of the guns ones. Very interesting. Going onto computers now.
Totally awesome, Jeremy Clarkson makes everything awesome.
Chained the world to what?
Great series. Went through three of them, two more to go.
This is great. Thanks for the watch
The computer one is particularly interesting (and I'm not particularly interested in computers). The story about Mr. Turing was quite upsetting and also the Victorian guy. [editline]18th November 2010[/editline] They are the unsung geniuses.

The one about the computer is pretty interesting.
Isn't this the kinda like Richard Hammond is doing with the bulidings and structures and what inventions contributed to them.
I absolutely loved this show. I have to say though, i had no idea so many inventions had such profoundly depressing stories of the inventors behind them. The ones on television and computers especially.
and May does stuff with Toys and the like... Presenters gonna Present
I love it.
Anyone else notice that the music for this is in 28 Days Later?
Oh god, a BBC documentary. Must resist! Presented by Jeremy Clarkson?! *watches the 5 hour documentaries*
It's a shame they only managed to pump out five :(
These are awesome.
