The thing about the Presidential line of succession is that a single nuke detonated in the heart of D.C. could easily wipe out most people on the list. If I was president I would permenantly stick my secretary of education in the middle of Montana or something.

Why does this seem to be implying they're not focused on winning the election and shouldn't be preparing for a likely win this close to said election? Kinda seems like it'd be an incredibly stupid idea to [I]not[/I] be preparing candidates for her cabinet.

The executive branch already does this simply by making sure the President and Vice President are in the same place as little as possible. And probably other members of the cabinet, but I don't think the line of succession will ever need to go further than Vice President at any point in our natural lives.

actually, we're pretty much all on various government lists by now, we're in a thread where a theoretical discussion about the line of succession is taking place, and some of us have done other listworthy things (like I've downloaded Tor and I've got a private VPN in Canada).
the thing is, we're low priority targets. all we're doing is talking shit about the US government, nobody actually expects us to be in DC with intent to assassinate on inauguration day.
