The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Through the majority of its existence, the group consisted of vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They were among the 1960s most controversial rock acts, due mostly to Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding for good in 1973.
Although The Doors's active career ended in 1973, their popularity has persisted. According to the RIAA, they have sold over 32.5 million albums in the US alone. The band has sold over 75 million albums worldwide.

Most popular doors song is probably 'the end', known worldwide

Why hello there, generic classic rock fan
Haha! The Doors :P I grew up learning everything Morrison ;o even now I still see people who I least suspect to have heard of them blast it!
Love riders on the storm!
Learned the basslines to 80% of their songs...
Even my dad thinks this music is "old"
Roadhouse Blues & L.A. Woman are my favourite Doors songs

Whats with you? If people arent open minded to music you need to let people be. In this day and age its depressing how less and less people appreciate great times.
Maybe i overdid the first post but its pretty much for jim morrison

That's one way of handling close mindedness. I find my own way being more efficient.

The Doors are better than most (virtually all) new bands because they actually have talent.
You probably deafened your ears with emo screamo.
The Doors are better than most new bands because they actually have talent...
You gotta look harder, man
There are a lot of talented bands nowadays
Perhaps even more, since the music has evolved more

Well that is just incredibly ignorant, wow.

Radiohead are arguably better than doors, lot more influential
although not a new band but their new stuff is pretty good

I'm sorry I was being disrespectful to you, you seem cool after all

Yeah, I know right.
Yeah, I know right.
Indeed it was.
Indeed it was.
I only like about 2% of new music, and The Doors are my 2nd favorite band of all time so, that explains my reasoning dosen't it.

No because you're saying that because you don't like something it is automatically untalented.

Depends what it is, I am talking about other genres of music, New metal takes talent but it is not my thing.

First you criticize the OP for acting like his own opinion is a fact then you insist that there are a lot more talented bands nowadays. Contradiction ahoy.
Although it does make sense because as we all know only your (everyone) opinion is right.

Also the keyboardist does this good cover of Soul Kitchen with the band X. Although he just sings. He does play some of the other songs in the album.

the end is the most popular song?
I think not, light my fire is definitely their most popular.
I recommend you watch the newly released documentary "When You're Strange".
It came on pbs, and I'm sure you can find it on the internet somewhere.
Its a must watch for any doors fan, very informative.
Thread is severely lacking 5:1
