Zenith is an independent film by Anonymous. Yes, that Anonymous. The actual studio is Cinema Purgatorio (their website), and it has produced some mildly successful independent films. Zenith is being released in three parts, the first of which has already been released. The movie is FREE TO DOWNLOAD, but you have to get past some puppy eyes asking you to donate first.
[release]Overview:
A father and son, separated by decades and a cataclysm that has upturned the world, track a grand and elusive conspiracy in this cyberpunk thriller.
In the hellish future of 2044, human beings have become stupefied by the state of permanent happiness they’ve been genetically altered to experience. ‘Dumb’ Jack (Peter Scanavino) offers relief via drugs that bring his customers the welcome phenomenon of pain. But when Jack receives a mysterious videotape of his dead father, he sets out to unmask the dangerous conspiracy that has created this dystopian world.
Not everyone likes having to think while watching a movie, but viewers who do will find plenty to ponder in this twisty maze of facts that sound like fiction just a hair stranger than the truth

To say the least, "Zenith" is challenging and elusive; it evokes a bleak view of the human condition and a sense that pervasive paranoia might well be justified.

A brooding science-fiction trip enjoyed largely as a monologue. Luckily, Nikolic's lust for paranoid desperation is powerful, and his way with actors is stunningly graceful.
The first part was amazing and they are not shy with the content. One of the first things you see is a naked woman with a strap-on dildo and there are scenes of self-inflicted pain (actually, the self-inflicted pain is central to the plot), so it's not a family film. This is an amazing film and I recommend it to anyone who loves thrillers, conspiracy-theory-based plots, or near-future cyberpunk (it's gene manipulation cyberpunk instead of machine, but the elements are still there). It actually makes you think and the acting is extraordinary. If the rest of the film is as good as the first part, it will have a permanent home in my collection.
Doesn't look too bad, but after reading the synopsis it could turn to shit,

Downloading now, if its good will totally donate
Wait I don't get what they had to do with the film.
So, a small group of people release a movie and say that they are "Anonymous".

Yeah, that's what I think happened. I'm not really sure how involved they are with Anonymous, but the tagline was what got me to download it. The problem with affiliating something with Anonymous is that anybody can do it for anything. However, the two things I have noticed about Anonymous that really binds it together, at list in their political doings, is a strong sense of freedom of information and the rights of the individual. If there was to be a movie to express that, this is it.

And here I thought the problem with affiliating something with Anonymous is that if the main collective doesn't like it, they DDoS the shit out of it and threaten to destroy the world or something?

Lol.
While that's true, I don't think it's really a problem so much as a danger. It is the cleansing mechanism that stops Anonymous from being overrun or manipulated and helps to define the goals and ideals of Anonymous as an (dis)organization.
Also, the fact that there hasn't been some massive outcry over this should be a clue that it's a really good movie.
I downloaded it and the extention is .ogv. What the hell plays .ogv?!
Anonymous does have some order, and there is a makeshift leader. I'll definitely look into this this weekend.

I started watching it yesterday but part 2 wasn't up for download. they need to hurry up and put that shit online
so how long until part 2?
How long are the sex scenes?
How long are the sex scenes?
they're not too long. it shows actual sex for only a minute or so, other than that it's just kissing
I thought I saw Eli from HL2 and Will Ferrel as the old man. :v:
so how long until part 2?
I got this straight from the download link.
The Zenith story takes place over three free-to-share episodes. Our target is to raise $10,000 for the release of each new episode during April and May 2011.
Some time this next month.
this next month :psyduck:
I hate it when people say "the film that they didn't want you to see". I wouldn't mind it on the rare occasion, but it seems overused. The first part was ok, and i wouldn't mind waiting for the second part.

Your mum hates deadspace
Your mum hates deadspace
I wanted to play Dead Space before my mother ever knew of it's existence.
Orweillian dystopias (control through pleasure) always interest me. This may turn out to be good.
I watched the first episode and I must say, I'm underwhelmed. There's just too much being thrown at me at once...and not in a good way.
Part 2 is out. I forgot about this for a while and just remembered it by chance. THE DOWNLOAD LINK IN THE OP ALSO HAS PART 2
Oh my god part 2 sucked. It was like they said "Fuck it, who needs depth in a plot? We'll just add a random sex scene."
pics please.
they aren't anonymous
i have there faces
So when are the sex scenes?
Isn't this based off some fiction that was posted on 4chan? The plot seems fairly familiar.
So when are the sex scenes?
Middle of the first one and before the ending scene of the second. However, the first one is just sweaty and desperate and the second makes no sense, seeing as how Jack just saved her from being raped. Actually, Jack was confused about it, too. He just went along with it. I guess the point is that it's her way of coping with the world. All of the intellectuals have a vice. Still, I didn't like part 2 because it was too short. Not much happened.

And the narration was terrible.
Are these just going to be parts or is there going to be one long movie at the end?
