"Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play," reads a statement posted to the game's website. "That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it's about getting you the game you expect and deserve."
Anyone here know about the Alpha at all? Was it bad?
Good. Stop fucking with this franchise and let it die in peace, you soulless amateurs.
Thank fuck, let it rest in piece instead of raping it even further.
Another one bites the dust.
I wonder how Xieneus feels about this.
Generals, Thank you for your participation over the last few months in the Command & Conquer closed alpha test. It’s been much appreciated, and you’ve been instrumental in helping define what a new Command & Conquer experience should and shouldn’t be. Part of being in a creative team is the understanding that not all of your choices are going to work out. In this case, we shifted the game away from campaign mode and built an economy-based, multiplayer experience. Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve. Over the next 10 days we will be refunding any and all money spent in the alpha. If you have a question about your refund, please contact help.ea.com. We believe that Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with huge potential and a great history, and we are determined to get the best game made as soon as possible. To that end, we have already begun looking at a number of alternatives to get the game back on track. We look forward to sharing more news about the franchise as it develops. Thank you again for your participation and support. - Victory Studios
People spent money in a alpha.... What the fuck??????
Anyone here know about the Alpha at all? Was it bad?
From what I read, it was mostly shit.
Sooo...Instead of fixing people's complaints with the game, they just shutter the development studio? It's like they don't want more money.
Thank God.
Finally may C&C rest from torture that's been done to it already.
westwood studios command and conquer is best command and conquer
Hate to see a company get closed, but it feels warm to know there is one less free-to-play in the world. Fucking hate those things.
I guess the carpet bombing approach to F2P games is finally over... right?
westwood studios command and conquer is best command and conquer
Butbutbutbut Generals/Zero Hour
Sooo...Instead of fixing people's complaints with the game, they just shutter the development studio? It's like they don't want more money.
Fucking EA not wanting more money Any half-decent publisher would crank out this shitstain of a game and then charge literally hundreds of dollars for garbage microtransactions and day one DLC, like the gamers want. But EA just have to be selfish dicks and not even keep the money we already gave to them. Fuck you EA
Its really sad that it went from being a Generals 2 with expected campaign and new factions to a micro-transaction multiplayer confuckery of a creation.
They didn't do a very good job of promoting it, I didn't even hear that this was in production, let alone that there was an alpha available.
Anyone here know about the Alpha at all? Was it bad?
i played the closed alpha it was bad
Good, I wanted a real CnC title not some shitty Pay2Win garbage.
I didn't even hear that this was in production
The game had a big fucking reveal in the GameInformer as Generals 2 in 2012 and every site was talking about it. Of course, that was back then when it looked very promising. You would need to have been off the internet for two whole weeks to miss all the news of the reveal.
People spent money in a alpha.... What the fuck??????
Probably microtransactions. Free to play games rely on microtransactions for profit.
There was no real need to close the development studio down though was there?
I wonder how Xieneus feels about this.
I bet this pleased him in some odd way.
It's hilarious to see how big of a promotion this game had at games conventions such as GamesCom 2013 They had a massive custom tank there with a stand and costumes and everything
-snip weird double post- also 666th post. get spooked
Didn't even get to play it. So couldn't even get my 'opinion' on it. I was actually interested in trying it out :C...
So Generals 2, a game I was looking forward to, turned into a free to play piece of shit that EA now cancelled? God dammit, Generals 2 seemed like it may be able to pull the C&C franchise off the deathbed EA put it on with C&C 4, now it seems like EA has taken C&C off life support, letting it die a miserable and undignified death.
Good, hopefully this tells EA what we don't want. Who am I kidding, here comes the C&C CoD-clone with Dewritos ads.
It sucks that all these people have lost their jobs but this whole game was a total shambles
