(Pool/CNN) - President Donald Trump has broken with recent precedent by not recognizing June as LGBT Pride Month.
Two of his predecessors' recognized the month.
The White House did not respond to a request for a comment.
Although Trump did not recognize LGBT Pride Month, he did proclaim June as Great Outdoors Month, National Caribbean-American Heritage Month, African-American Music Appreciation Month, National Ocean Month and National Homeownership Month.
Trump's decision to stay silent on the matter throughout June comes at a time when record numbers of Americans support same-sex marriage.

Nobody's surprised. We all knew the LGBT support during the campaign was purely posturing.
Obligatory "but he held the flag" comment
I'll just say it again
if you were going for the trump vote for LGBT rights, you're delusional lmao
Out of all the anti-LGBT things he's done, this is probably the very least concerning for the movement.
But
but HE HELD THE FLAG
HE HELD IT
I'm so SURPRISED!
Once again Trump showing his trademark bigotry.
People can be so naive, how the hell do you equate a guy holding an LGBT flag purely for the sake of publicity and that too wrongly, as being 'supportive' of LGBT individuals? A man who had Mike "zap the gay away" Pence as his VP candidate? A man who prefers to appeal to his vote bank than any other American citizen who doesn't like him and what he stands for?
If you voted Trump because you thought he would stand for LGBT rights, you're delusional.

Don't forget he also just appointed a woman staunchly against transgenderism into a position of gender equality too. But I'm sure he's totally pro-LGBT and her personal biases, just like Pence's, should have no bearing on our opinions of him.

the only people who were oh-so-loudly proclaiming that Trump was pro-LGBT were either 1. non-LGBT people, or LGBT people who were incredibly insulated from problems the vast majority of LGBT people face.

If you promise not to tell him; my mom's cousin, who is a homosexual man, was planning on voting for Fillon in the 2017 presidential elections, effectively threatening his own marriage out of political ignorance. It happens more than you'd think.
Now come on, does this look like someone who would discriminate against LGBT rights

[sp]The answer is yes, yes he does[/sp]

His face in this pic is one of "look at these schmucks, they're actually buying this shit lmao"
I find this behavior very immature. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with something, be it homosexuality, transgender, religion or whatever else, these people are still Americans. It is the responsibility of the government and the head of state in particular to care and protect all of their countries nationals, regardless of personal opinion. Whoever someone is, if he's American, he's one of us - from the US Gov's point of view - and the Gov should do all in its might to protect their rights, that's what this whole 'State' concept boils down to, after all.

Most of the people in the trump admin want all LGBT people to die
Mr. Orange, doing what Mr. Orange does best I see.
In any case, please get me out of Texas. Things just keep getting worse down here. At this rate I think I'm just going to give up on coming out and give up on ever taking off the mask until I leave this back-asswards state.
I wonder how Pvt. Martin feels about this now since one of the main reasons for him voting trump was his "support" of LGBT

Is this the new "but emails tho"
This pic is shopped, the flag is missing black and brown!
Booo, boo this joke.

Knowing how far he jumped off the deep end, it's all MSM establishment deep state lies to tarnish Trump's glowing reputation
the only reason he's holding the flag is because his name is on it
I wonder if Trump got Pvt. Martin a job yet.
He's even holding it upside down.
Then again, whoever wrote on it fucked up first.

was probably trump himself
Nobody's surprised. We all knew the LGBT support during the campaign was purely posturing.

The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
Isn't this also posturing?
Isn't this also posturing?
Posturing is holding up a pride flag to get votes.
Not refusing to acknowledge LGBT pride month is more on the 'policy' side of things.
Though no-one is really surprised, we all knew Trump and his cohorts are racist sexist homophobes.
Isn't this also posturing?
You can try and flip this however you want. We get it, you can't stand to see him do shitty things so you try and look for any possible alternatives.
Isn't this also posturing?
How do you excuse blatant lies? He's acting against his promises to the LGBT community, you can't really be denying that? Not with the litany of people appointed to those positions who explicitly don't represent any of the interests of the groups they're supposed to represent?
I'm sure you think we're giving you a hard time about this but no one's trying to be mean, we just can't understand how you don't see these things, or how you won't admit any of these faults. The inability to comprehend what seem to be like illogical jumps in reasoning can certainly seem like hostility but it isn't
Is there a straight white male pride month? What about a latino history month? No? Ok then let's quit it with these pride & history months.

lol here we go
The reason why these events exist is because these are groups of people that have been marginalized in history. Black history month is to show that despite living in awful conditions, aka being owned as slaves, they've come out just fine. LGBT pride is to show that despite being ostracized as inhuman for their nature, lgbt people can show everyone that those times are over, and that you should accept who you are.
If you think they're in any way comparable to "straight white male pride month" you're entirely delusional on so many levels.
