Remedy is known for their exceptional horror game from 2010, Alan Wake, and the downloadable follow-up Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. The news comes straight from the Alan Wake official Facebook page, which recently posted:The new year starts with good news: Alan Wake Franchise is -75% on Steam. Even greater Remedy news to come in 2013… Could this be hinting at an official Alan Wake sequel? Considering the announcement was made on the game’s Facebook page rather than Remedy’s official page, a sequel announcement is very likely. Alan Wake launched on the Xbox 360 back in May 2010, and after positive reception and countless requests for a PC version, the game was released for Microsoft Windows earlier this year. The game follows a best-selling author whose wife goes missing while vacationing on the fictional island of Bright Falls. He soon begins to find manuscript pages of a book that he supposedly wrote, and soon must fight both his growing insanity and the supernatural forces haunting the town. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare was also released during 2012.
I'm really hoping for an Alan Wake sequel, I fucking loved the first one.
I'm excited
fuck yes alan wake was great
Everything is good about this game
Remedy just stands on stage shouting "JASON! JASON! JAAAASOOOOON!"
woop woop. can't wait to see what Remedy is up to. their games are so darn good. i love their narratives. i can't see them doing a sequel to Alan Wake though. i mean, american nightmare rounded off Wake's story pretty well. and anyways, i would much rather see them set up a new story and set of characters, maybe in a correlation where the gameplay can be a bit more varied than it was in Alan Wake.
I loved this game.
Remedy just stands on stage shouting "JASON! JASON! JAAAASOOOOON!"
Huh? They didn't make Heavy Rain.
Just beat american nightmare this week can't wait to hear what this is.
Speaking of American Nightmare, or was the plot eerily similar to the TV show in MP1/2 http://maxpayne.wikia.com/wiki/Address_Unknown or am I remembering it wrong In the sense that [sp]An alter ego of himself, that's much more cocky and egotistical is running a muck all over the place and murdering everyone [/sp]
Hopefully this isn't a Xbox exclusive.
I doubt it will be, Alan wake sold quite well and remedy seems really confident with PC ports (I think the alan wake port was good, anyways. I can't remember now)

Never really understood what was so great about this game, made it REALLY far through the game but not to the end, didn't really like it all that much... Opinions, though.
Never understood why this game was great. It's basically the same thing over and over. Point a flashlight at a lumberjack and sparks come out of his flesh, then you shoot him. For eight episodes. And I was even told it was 'scary' but I didn't even get any of that. Then American Nightmare was even worse, because it was literally the exact same thing throughout the whole game, except later in you actually do less stuff. And the whole live action thing was just bland. The least they could do is add some puzzles (and moving bridges back and forth is not a puzzle).
I doubt it will be, Alan wake sold quite well and remedy seems really confident with PC ports (I think the alan wake port was good, anyways. I can't remember now)
It was a great port, it ran well and had many graphics options. Some textures at parts were low res but I'd blame console development on that more than the devs.
I wonder if Alan Wake 2 will tout the improved combat of American Nightmare?

Fucking yes.
I doubt it will be, Alan wake sold quite well and remedy seems really confident with PC ports (I think the alan wake port was good, anyways.
Remedy is known for their exceptional horror game from 2010, Alan Wake,
Uhh I think Remedy is more known for Max Payne and since when was Alan Wake a horror game? [editline]4th January 2013[/editline]
I wonder if Alan Wake 2 will tout the improved combat of American Nightmare?
I presumed that American Nightmare was basically a tech demo to let Remedy show off some new engine enhancements and to get some feedback.
Good to know their cliff hangers weren't for nothing
ALAN WAKE 2OMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMG lol alan wake is my favorite game ever, really loved it.
I wonder if Alan Wake 2 will tout the improved combat of American Nightmare?
Hopefully it's more horror less action.
Hopefully it's more horror less action.
But it's not horror at all in the first place
Hope they get to make a game like they want it this time. They had to get money from microsoft and they royally fucked the whole idea behind it, just look at the tech demo footage from 06.

If they really are announcing Alan Wake 2 then they might just make the gameplay more diverse, which would be perfecttt
I'd like to see some surreal landscapes

More Old Gods Of Asgard by Poets Of The Fall?
just an opinion, but i didnt like the enemies in alan wake, angry shadow farmers didnt sold for me. Maybe shadow creatures or beasts would have been better. [sp]even zombies...maybe not lol[/sp] [editline]4th January 2013[/editline]
But it's not horror at all in the first place
the trailers made it look like a survival horror though
The enemies were hilarious though, what with no relation to the situation and with the rapid pitch shifting. "DID YOU CALL 911?" "IT'S RABBIT SEASON!" "PreMIUM CABINS IN NIght fallssshhhh!" "You'll taKE FIVE PILLS INNNNN THE MORRNIIIINNGGGG, AND Another five at night and you'll sleep like a baby!" "You have faILED TO ARRIVE." "Omega 3 fatty acids are good for your heart!"
