It will follow the story of a protagonist through surviving (and possibly gaining power) in a new harsh world. After every installment I write, a list of options will be given which everyone can vote on. Whichever options receives the most support will continue the story down that path. Along the way, the character will gain and lose inventory. The character's body physique, health, and nutrition will change. The character will be able to take odd jobs or perform other tasks that either help or harm the people around him, changing the environment and how others in the world see him. The world will always be changing, along with the people around the character, and there is much trouble, both within civilization and outside of its grasp. Every choice you make will have a consequence. Make your decisions wisely. Are you ready to embark upon a quest that may very well change the fate of the world? If so, welcome to New Earth: A cold and dark world of hatred and despair. ________________________________________________ Welcome to Невероятно Устрашающий. This is the story of a torn and shattered Earth, long plagued by man and his wars. The world has come to a more than tragic, but less than expected, end. In the 1940's, nuclear hellfire rained down and scorched the surface, devastating and causing most of the world to be horrifically transformed into a desolate wasteland. Now, at the dawn of the 21st century, man is crawling out of his hole and beginning to establish new life on the silent world above. Small expanses of land are sustainable for meager life, but much of it remains inhospitable. Entire continents are home to pockets of radiation, and the oceans are filled with toxic sludge. And despite all of this, even the apocalypse hasn't stopped man from killing one another. The Soviet Union has risen from the ashes of Russia and has once more begun to bring their society back together, now reverting to strange but effective manners of warfare and continues to aggressively spread their horribly morphed Communist ideas. The Third Reich has come up from the shadows of what remains of Berlin, but changed drastically. The fascists have turned to experimenting with the undead and occultism, and have begun to dabble in demonology. Though only insane attempts could be shown as progress at first, there are now those who seem to have... Harnessed, if you will, unholy power. In the mountains of southeast Asia, the last remnants of a destroyed culture have gone back to their old traditions. Much of what used to be Japan, Mongolia, and China is now controlled by split shogunates spread across the land, vying for ultimate control over the other factions. And below the surface remains those who do not trust the world above. Those who stay to the sewers, tunnels, and dark. Immersed in that darkness they've known since birth. The undermining splinter faction, with their own nefarious schemes. And this is where your story begins... The inventory of the character displays what items he currently has. Look for the most recent installment to continue. Day Zero Welcome. This is your first day, Day Zero. It is time to select your fate. What background you select will determine much of who you are. Let's begin, shall we? You are a teenage boy, coming of age to be considered a man in the Soviet Union's eyes. And what this means for you is uncertain. You live in a small but clean apartment complex in New Moscow. You have wandered the streets as a pseudo-hoodlum all your life, roving about with your friends but never getting into too much trouble. You are a strong believer of Communist ideals, but whether or not you believe you're ready to be enlisted into the State's army has yet to be decided. Born at the turn of the century, you are a boy of thirteen, now old enough to be trained by your father in the ways of the samurai. You have been told that being a samurai is the ultimate honor in your family. Within the next year, you will be considered by the shogun to become a part of his retainer of fighting men. But the training seems long and rigorous, and the way of the samurai may not be your idea of fulfilling life. Though unsure why, it would seem that there is a deep hatred within your friends and family. You've always loved the Reich, but the Fuhrer has been dead for many years. Your father was lost during a strange experiment, and your mother was taken due to suspicion of being against the studies of your schoolwork. You've been researching and studying the ideals of demonology and loose necromancy since you were put into school. Your stepfather aspires for you to become a great scientist, but you believe in more than books and philosophy. You hope that, soon after your sixteenth birthday, you'll be able to go along with a patrol of men heading out into the countryside, to see the world outside of the city. The life of a tunnel rat is bleak. But your love for the rebellion is unfaltering. The world above is hardly better than this place that you've known all your life. Though dark and dank, you feel a connection here that calls to you. And you want to ensure that the rebellion is the great force against those above who would seek to destroy you and your cause. It's time to decide. Choose your destiny, but quickly: The world is changing, and it may not have room for you soon. To be continued... ________________________________________________ Keep in mind! Don't forget that every option has its consequences, some of which may not be necessarily foreseeable based solely on the description of the option. Some things that may seem like a good idea may turn out bad, or things that may seem uneventful may turn into something you won't expect. Keep in mind that you are a person, and thus need rest, shelter, and sustenance. Do not always act rashly. As the game progresses and I update the story as you guys vote more, attempt to create some discussion about what you think will happen next given what options there are, and try to make it more exciting than simply voting every time I update the game. If you're confused, feel free to ask any questions, as I'll be happy to help.
So wait, is this an RP?
So wait, is this an RP?
No. It's an ongoing story, really. You guys vote on options I give you, and then whichever gets the most votes I take the story down that path. So, if the majority of people posting picked the Russian guy, I'd start a story where the Russian guy is the main character, and then he would meet some certain objective, let's say like: You're at a bar. What do you buy? Vodka, tequila, beer. Except with more complex options. The health, inventory, and other stuff listed above also affect certain actions and how they're performed. And then after that's voted on, I do another installment, and so on and so forth until you reach the end. (Whatever ending that may be, depending on how the story moves.)
Oh! This is a good idea. Set me up with a simple start.

Rebel!
All right, one for the tunnel rat then.
Ooh, an interactive story that has revolves more around a full story instead of just clever MS Paint pictures. I like it. also Rebel.
All of the choices seem to lead to being a rebel anyway. None of them actually have you fitting into their role, except the rebel. I'm going to choose the Russian anyway.

And sweet, the Russian is my favorite. :3 EDIT: I'll update at the end of the day, just waiting to see if we get a few more votes in.
Going to say samurai. BANZAI!!!!
Невероятно Устрашающий Хуй.
I say Rebel.
All right, I think rebel wins. Also, sorry for not updating this when I should have. I'll update later today when I'm not so tired.
Off topic: Am i the only one to understand the name of this? Waiting for the continuation <3
