Half to 3/4 of what FP churns out in PW is now a template. An oversized, chunky template. At first it looked pretty cool, and then Spartan gave it to everyone in a smaller form. I know we had a good idea somewhere down the road because a template army thread popped up (not that retarded one by Head, but a serious one).
I say that if FP is gonna continue being lazy and doing every single fucking one of their armies on that honest-to-god-ugly template, we need to keep it away from the art of those that really try. Perhaps another template army thread. I mean, I don't even read the army thread anymore. I looked at the current one today for the first time in about a month or two. I looked at one page, to post something which I didn't get CC on because like 4 people posted template armies right after it. And you can't really give CC on a template army, just call it awesome or shit, the latter of which really has yet to be used.
Plus all these retarded newbies that keep coming in that all of you complain about are coming because they see the word "template" and jump in, thinking they are the shit and fucking everything up.
I'm not saying to just make another template army thread and then let it die, I'm saying we need to commit to it and not let it die, and consider it as important as the actual army thread, because I, for one, would like to be able to see some quality work without trudging through 20 pages of the same fucking army with different colors over and over again.
For tl;dr's - Get out because you probably don't care or probably use it yourself.

I have drawn away from it, though I will still use the armies at where created for it. but I no longer make official armies with it... it just feels wrong now.
I think a way of stopping it would be be that we remove the template from the Free army thread and everybody just keeps it to themselves now, at least that way any new players cant get their hands on it and make the same generic army.
Ooorah to that. I've made use of said template, put I put real [I]work[/I] into it. But that everyone uses it is really shitty.
Thats why no-one who is REALLY good and almost god-like look down on us in the FPPW forums.
Shadow that is a good idea, but they can still technically get the template from old posts or new posts of people's armies. In all honesty FP is not going to ever be determined enough to rid ourselves of the template.
The more experienced players use the said template for 1 offs,like rps where its better to have the same stuff etc.
I myself have made 2 armies without templates,and about 3-4 with them.
What i do sometimes is use the template to get the height etc right,but i don't use them.
We best just keep it on a low profile then, they can't find what they don't know about!
I did use it for my other guys, but I plan to go back to 2 of my others that i didnt use a template for, and carry it on with them.

By "abit" you mean exactly the same. As are all the other armies of newbies that "try" to make their own. This shitty exploit is not only promoting being lazy and uncreative, but apparently limiting the imagination of new members.
Well if there was a Tutorial, Then maybe some people would use their imagination. But i am going to keep using the template.

I supposed that one of the main causes of this is people using the free rp sheet in their armies.

We should just deny entry to threads with template armies, would work much better, though we should let Spartan in, only because his armies do actually look half decent

You can't really say Spartan isn't a bad spriter though, I like his style, not because its really detailed or anything, just looks cool. It also actually looks like he puts effort into it, also the fact he [I]sorta[/I] made the template
I think templates are fine but their seems to only be one used at the moment.
I try to work on different bits, but it is genuinely difficult as just about everything I make turns out like a template even if I haven't used one. I can do vehicles though :D.
