Im makeing my own tele. i have everything i need. except the pickups.
Im into heavy, black, death style metal.
i was thinking hotrails?
I just want some humbucker pickups that will fit a tele
price doesnt matter
Are you using a standard tele bridge or standard hardtail?
Are you routing the body yourself or it it already cut out? If you're routing it, you may want to consider a hardtail tele with a humbucker in the bridge position. If you're buying the body, and it's routed for the tele bridge position, I think EMG makes a telecaster pickup set.

Not sure if they are stacked or hotrails. At any rate, they are probably fatter sounding because they are EMG.
Try out bareknuckles, if you phone the guy then he gives you alot of advice on what you want and what you should use to achieve it.
Plus EMG's are soulless.

The tele ones seem to work out pretty good.
Problem with EMGs is they are too clean. Sterile is a good term for it, but they seem good for heavy distortion because of that.

Yeh, EMGs sound too artificial when clean. I might replace my Tele's neck pickup with one though, then I can use the bridge pickup (which I love) for cleans and the neck for distortion, best of both worlds.
I wouldn't think most people would want a tele for black or death metal...
Jim Root from Slipknot uses one with different pickups.
A better example would be the dude from a powermetal band, can't remember if its nightwish or nevermore but its a band like that.
Jari Mäenpää used one in a Wintersun video, but he usually plays with RGs and JEMs live.
