• High Flier? Airline Attendant Bolts LAX Without Cocaine, Gucci Shoes
She left behind 60 pounds of cocaine — and her Gucci shoes. Investigators are looking for a flight attendant who bolted from Los Angeles International Airport as her carry-on bags — which were loaded with drugs — were about to be inspected, authorities told NBC News. The drama unfolded Friday night when the woman showed up for a flight, law-enforcement sources familiar with the incident said. Flight attendants and other crew members are not normally subjected to searches. But the suspect was pulled aside by Transportation Security Administration officers for a random screening in Terminal 4, the sources said. The woman, who was not identified, appeared nervous and made a cellphone call in a language not recognized by officers, authorities told NBC News. She was then taken aside to a secondary screening area and asked for her employee identification.
Source That's a lot of cocaine to be trying to smuggle onto a flight lol.
I'll never get why people smuggling this kind of weight don't take one of the many drugs designed to calm your nerves to avoid acting suspicious.
A drug dog would've detected on that so fast. That's a huge gamble in itself since all the airports I've been to seem to have random patrols.
That's almost a million USD in cocaine at least :v:
Twenty seven kilos, going at $25,000... So about $675,000 USD. Yeah, someone is probably about to end up in a ditch.
Why not just smuggle it with low flying airplane? Airline smuggling is the most idiotic smuggling possible.
Why not just smuggle it with low flying airplane? Airline smuggling is the most idiotic smuggling possible.
I'm gonna guess the people footing the bill for all that cocaine explored all options and found airline smuggling is their best bet.

I mean, she's no further use to them, lost 2/3rds million dollars (not really her fault but still) and could probably finger a couple of them if caught by the police. At this point her best hope would be turn herself in to the police. Plea bargain in exchange for testimony + witness protection.
Why not just smuggle it with low flying airplane? Airline smuggling is the most idiotic smuggling possible.
Flight attendants don't usually get their luggage checked, unless they're acting super suspicious, like this woman was.
Why not just smuggle it with low flying airplane? Airline smuggling is the most idiotic smuggling possible.
It probably worked really well if she was trusted with 500 grand of cocaine on the trip, you don't just start with that amount on your first run. [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline]
Usually people doing this are not smartest or are forced by some mafia man (threats to family etc..)
Yes, people that are in charge of smuggling half a million dollars of cocaine don't know how to move cocaine Black market businesses are just regular businesses without labor laws
Why not just smuggle it with low flying airplane? Airline smuggling is the most idiotic smuggling possible.
I'm not 100%, but most lightweights can only carry up to about 300 to 500 pounds. It may seem like quiet a bit, but you gotta realize that also includes the weight of the person and fuel. :v: For example: [t]http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/dangerroom/2012/08/5126288617_e6e9ed8762_b.jpg[/t] This was one of the ultralights that was captured by a combined US-Mexican effort, and as you can imagine at best that could carry maybe four to six kilo slabs, and then it has to drop them individually on a random point in the desert. All this, and you have to remember that most Cartel ultralights are made from lawn mowers.
oh, that's why security was tight yesterday I work at LAX, and security is indeed lax for anyone that works at the airport or works for the airlines
whoever wrote that 8 has no idea what an 8 looks like apparently.. shit looks like a p [editline]23rd March 2016[/editline] It also says she made a call.. she was probably told to avoid being arrested at all costs

About what she knows, about her involvement. And about the criminals' too. She could know nothing, except the rough appearance of some nobody who helped deliver or pack the drugs in her bags. If I was a part of some criminal conspiracy like that, I would want the courier itself know as little as possible about whose money is actually tied to the drugs, and so on. As little info as possible.
