Why ask for a refund? Were you legitimately expecting something different?
Yeah, ended up uninstalling it after a week, got it for over 50% off, so it wasn't the worst thing, could have bought a lot better games for that price though.
It's like five steps forward, and then four steps back as every good feature is packed in with the same shite over and over again.
Mostly agree with the singleplayer. It's polished and passable and decent enough, but not that incredible. More fun than most CoD singleplayers, but nothing really worth the $60 asking price.
The multiplayer "review", and I use that word very loosely, is bizarrely lacking for an Angry Review. Spending 3 minutes to complain about how the game is too fast paced for you in a 21 minute video labeled an Angry Review just doesn't really cut it.
Also it doesn't use peer to peer, it uses listen servers when traffic is high. The PC patch a few days after launch fixed a lot of problems and you can further optimize connections by adjusting a cfg value.

No dedicated servers is a legit complaint but the total lack of criticism otherwise then dropping a 5/10 isn't fair imo.
the game is not new at all. doesnt matter if you have special exo stuff, nobody uses them apart from the dashes forward left and right, and even with this movement it still feels like any other cod cause its only as fast as strafr jumping and bouncing and other stuff in the cod series
i just got my refund for this game approved after a week of coaxing
From what I've played people jump and dash all over the place and it makes matches a lot more hyperactive and dynamic than any other cod before.
Sounds like you're just salty because you can't play the game right.
I have to agree with him for the most part, the multiplayer is pretty much the same mess as usual, just with tacked on jetpacks that actually make it more of a mess. It's pretty clear that they just welded on a ton of different ideas that don't actually fit within what they had and you can pretty clearly see where they stole said ideas from as well. It's definitely less of a disaster to play than previous games, but the scummy business practices are in full effect, and a lot of the mechanics you see in SP do basically amount to "press F to win level". Glad the pick 13 system is back though, and I do hope that stays if this franchise does.

where did they steal the ideas from
i'm seeing the same business practices as the ones microsoft and EA enact on their respective series

don't give me titanfall bs because halo had jetpacks and armor ability and shit way before that. i could claim titanfall did that too and it wouldn't hold any tact either

anyone who claims CoD uses p2p servers in a serious review, should be immediately disregarded. it's not hard to research what p2p actually means
It seems pretty clear that two types of people tried Advanced Warfare. The type that learned how to exploit the advantages a radically different movement system offered, and the type that got rekt.
i hadn't played CoD since MW2 and it's definitely the last series i'm going to defend by will, but Advanced Warfare is a legitimately fantastic multiplayer experience. much much better than what i had played at friend's houses from the previous few games like ghosts.
When i can get a CoD for like 20$ i usually get it and right now i got all CoD's except for Advanced Warfare.
And even after all these goddamn CoD's only ONE call of duty game keeps my attention and for me still has the most exciting and nerving moments in both singleplayer and multiplayer, and that is Call of Duty World at War. Seems that game got lost between MW and BLOPS since i never hear about that game when CoD comes up in a discussion.
Also, dat OST.

World at War is a masterpiece. Black Ops was good, but it couldn't compare. Its my favorite Call of Duty

The thing about CoD WaW was also that the whole World War 2 aspect was taken far more seriously than another "fuk ye america we are kicking german butt" WW2 story. WaW was pretty fucking dark if you look back at it.
Examples being the first mission taking place in Germany and that part where you [sp]Burn all the germans alive in the metro[/sp].
Meh
Played at my friends and I didn't care for it. It had a few interesting things to mix up the MP but it still felt too much the same.
Not a justifiable purchase for $60

Then again I've grown extremely tired of the FPS, almost none of them feel fun to me anymore so I'll admit some bias.

[sp]I remember getting real pissed off when those assholes threw their molotovs. I refused to take part in it[/sp]

It annoyed me because I was a lot younger when I played it and was hanging out with my friend and he was like "HAHA FUCK YOU NAZIS" and humping their corpses as I contemplated the futility of war.
The intro was so pretentious it hurt

The whole intro scene in Makin where you see [sp]your fellow marines tortued and executed[/sp] made me realize I was in for something more grim than CoD4.

Or the part where, you know, [sp]Reznov stabs a dude in the fucking back with a square-ended machete.[/sp]

Good job, you just wasted your refund on a game that wasn't even terrible. Let me know how it feels when you can't get a refund on Alien Colonial Marines 2.0 because you whined to Steam Support about Call of Duty Advanced Warfare.

Most of the dudes I ran into online said they just fell in love with that shit almost immediately, myself included. I'm honestly surprised.
It's still a twitch shooter, but you can leap up in the air or dash to the sides and back (or forward-ish if you turn your view suddenly while running) to avoid dudes. It's a new dynamic that completely benefitted the game in every way.
ive asked for one game to be refunded, whats the big deal
You only ever get one refund on Steam,
I'm surprised Joe liked MW2 aswell.

The music playing at the end scene of World at War was brilliant, the music and the speech.
