I've created this thread for acne discussion, remedies, and tips/tricks.
Please try to be descriptive if you're posting about remedies and tricks. For example, if you're posting some facial mask that gets rid of oil or puts oils on the face (to fix skin being treated by strong dermatologist prescribed medicines), please make sure that the recipe is for one or the other.
I'll update OP with some tricks and remedies.
Sleeping on a fresh towel actually helps quite a bit.

Probably because you're aren't changing your pillow case. Put a fresh towel over your pillow.
I will try that
I got some acne scars, definelty regret that. But I can't help myself :(
Anyway, my mom knows acupuncture, and sometimes she used to do something in my back like, stab with a small needle and remove some blood. That usually helped
Excuse my ignorance, but why would a fresh surface to lie on help?
The towel over your pillow case thing doesn't always work. I did that for 3 weeks, to no avail. I've gone through loads of over-the-counter medications, proactive, home remedies, and even a prescription medicine. I'm started a second prescription yesterday, and I'm hoping that this works. I tried getting Accutane, but they said that it's a high-risk medicine and that I have to get referred to a dermatologist and my acne has to be bad enough and it has to be on my chest and back and a whole lotta other stuff.
I used to have longish hair. It would cover my forehead and that is one of the places I had it kinda bad. I cut my hair knowing that the oils from my hair did contribute to it. it's pretty short now and my skin not completely clear but it's nothing bad. Nothing nobody will notice unless they are an inch away from my face. I also use this:

It works pretty well, has the main ingredient of most skin cleansers benzoyl peroxide and it's pretty cheap. Only $10 and I go through one in about a month maybe.
I fucking hate acne. One week i look beautiful the next three its a warzone.

Define "fresh towel," because I tried that for 3 weeks and I got absolutely no results from it.

Freshly cleaned towel everyday that is unused.
Epiduo is working surprisingly well for me.
And its only been two days.
But I have scars (as a result of the acne not the epiduo).
But oh well, scars > acne I guess.

Did you pick a lot? I just rub my forehead with the side of my finger and sometimes they fall off.
Doctor told me to use antibiotics, and it's slowly working. On day 12/14 with one pill a day, then onto half a pill once every day.
I always have one on my nose. It's so fucking annoying.
And the amount of blood coming from them is just something ridiculous.
Drinking lots of water and washing you're face before you go to bed, when you wake up, and sleeping on a fresh towel can help.
Is there anything that can be done about scars?
I have way too many scars from picking
I have some major assne. Got treatment?
Pro-active works pretty damn well.
I only get outbreaks if i drink a shit ton of cokes and never drink water in a single day, and or don't bathe for a day.
i used to have it awfully, but this summer it just went away and now i just get little breakouts every once in awhile hell yea
I used to have it really bad but it's getting much better now. I just started washing my face more frequently and went on a diet. Only problem now is the scars...

It does actually work. It's just very hard/annoying to do it every night, but it's worth it. Also, washing your hands and face when you wake up, when you come back home from wherever the fuck you were, and before going to sleep - or whenever needed, common sense required.
And most importantly, GET RID OF JUNK FOOD.

What I learned about mine is that if I just wash three times a day with hot water (barely tolerable) my skin becomes jesusmode.
For those who have acne scars, like me, here is the page

I fucking hate these, they're just ruining my otherwise pretty face

Myth:
Washing your face more often will help clear up acne
Reality:
Facial blemishes are not caused by dirt.1 Contrary to what you may have seen in commercials, pores do not get blocked from the top down due to "impurities". Rather, the walls of a pore stick together deep within the skin, starting acne formation. Far from preventing acne, frequent washing may actually irritate pores and cause them to become clogged. A washcloth can add even more irritation. The best bet is to wash very gently with bare hands, and only wash twice a day.
Got this stuff from the doctor thats helping. All thats left to deal with are the scars.
Shower every day, put a fresh towel on your pillow, wash your hands frequently, wash your fucking face.
Put hydrogen peroxide (AKA: dihydrogen dioxide, which you can get at any pharmacy) on a cotton ball and dab your entire face well. Leave it there, let it irritate itself for a bit, then wash your face with soap and warm water. You'll notice that the hydrogen peroxide shrinks the acne and if you do this enough they should go away.
Oh, and change your sheets once a week if you have body acne.

Oh, but don't do the H2O2 thing too often or your skin will get overly irritated by the stuff. Once every two or three days is what I do.

I use this with a BP spot treatment and it saved my fucking life.
Don't drink carbonated stuffs, it really makes acne bad.
Junk food in general does really
I suggest Iced Tea as a replacement for soda :v:
