The Green Moon, Halacus, shines over a cold forest. The quiet hum of nearby burzinett becomes an ominous drone as the cries of a panicking giant become increasingly urgent. She separated from the herd because she was pregnant, and has been chased by a predator for the better part of two hours now. Your mother has been cornered by a bull imperis. What will she do? First try at an interactive, commands are to be marked with the standard >. Don't expect me to update very often, I'm a very lazy man. Hopefully I will update enough for the story to progress though.
> Attack Bull Imperis.
Your mother is tired, hungry and in panic, but she tries to gather up her last strains of energy to, at the very least, ward off the imperis A thunderous beat gets closer as your mother rears up on her hind legs. A tetracnaruk bursts onto the scene, catching the imperis in its enormous beak. Your mother takes this opportunity to bound away. A few hours later you were born in a small clearing. Your mother cleans you while you attempt to stand, eventually you give up, and both you and your mother sleep. You are a Quokenich. For a sense of scale here an adult quokenich (I.E the mother) is around the size of an adult elephant. Also I made the mistake of not including the forehead plate in the third panel in the OP, in case you were wondering where it came from. [editline]6th July 2011[/editline] Also, every now and then I might make more detailed pictures of the animals in the comic. They're basically what they should look like if they don't in the actual comic, apart from the fact they have no colouration. I'd already done Quokenich and another as of yet unseen animal. I'll post quokenich for now and the other is in the creative pictures that don't deserve a thread if you want to spoil it for yourself
do something
Try to eat a rock.
>Reupload all your pictures so I can see what is going on
>Not much to do now but to wait until you wake up :v:
Oh shit I completely forgot about this :v: It is tomorrow, you have spent the previous hour trying to get the hang of standing and walking. Your mother is elsewhere, foraging. What will you do?
>explore your surroundings
>Go back to sleep and wait for something to happen.
>explore your surroundings
Accidentally read as inspect your surroundings, whoops. The forest stretches as far as your four eyes can see, the only thing worth mentioning is your mother grazing just outside the grove you are in. It is early Dark Spring. The smaller sun that the Goloryan folk call Erebos is emerging from behind the larger sun Hemera. Two lone Burzinett fly north, perhaps on their way to- Ooh some fruit. Also, I am allowing you, kind people of facepunch to name the planet.

Planet Punchfacelandia [editline]21st July 2011[/editline] I really like the art styles, by the way.
Quokenich: Retrieve arms from hollow tree.

Ew. You'd throw up if you weren't on an empty stomach. The fruit perches itself on your head.
Make the fruit roll towards your mouth and eat it.
Leave the fruit there, it's keeping the binary sun off your vulnerable newborn head
turn your head in surprise to the sound of a poacher's gunshot.
Study the fruit, then realize that it is an insect. Then try to become friends with the insect.
Befriend the fruit.

It chitters back and begins the buzz away. When you catch up to the fruitbug it's settled on a large rock by a pond. It begins chittering madly. Curious. Don't forget that I'm still taking possible names for the planet.
Dahanna This adventure is adorable.
Bound away from that sleeping Ya-Te-Vo before it attacks you with that dangling tentacle. Not only are the adult females dangerous and fast-breeders, but they are masters of disguise, capable of making prey think it's a harmless object. Thankfully they are immobile, only the males and the worm-like young are mobile. Speaking of the young, be wary of where you step; the young are rather notorious for bursting out of the ground to attack young quokenich such as yourself. Also, why not name the planet Chthosis?

As young Scaltrops are more like primates, mostly tree dwelling animals but as they grow older they get considerably larger. Too large for most trees to take. A full sized adult scaltrops such as the one with its eyes on our hero is little more than brain, tongue, lung, heart and stomach compressed into a small area in the "head" of the rock. After 5 or so years male scaltrops undergo a metamorphesis in which their skin hardens to such a degree that it appears to be stone. In the forests moss tends to grow on them, which is where fruitbugs come in. Fruitbugs eat the moss and other vegetation or fungi that goes on the Scaltrops. In exchange, the fruitbug coaxes the young of other species to the scaltrops. Who then injects them with paralytic venom from a sac inside the tongue. It then wraps around the victim and drags them up into the "mouth" hole. Bit uneventful, but it's not like anything else is going on. Now where were we? Oh right. The fruitbug ==> I have a searing headache and it's 3 in the morning so I'm going to bed. I'll continue directly on from the last frame tomorrow, feel free to post names though.
quick, while you still have control of your movements before the poison sets in: Quokenich: Writhe like a flagellum and puke on your mom
what's the climate of the area of the planet we're in right now?
Run to your mother and tell her about the poison quickly.
Salthork Run to the nest and tell mother.
