COQUILLE, Ore. October 2, 2012 (AP) Oregon authorities are investigating how a farmer was eaten by his hogs. The Coos County district attorney's office says 70-year-old Terry Vance Garner never returned after he set out to feed his animals Wednesday on his farm near the Oregon coast. A family member later found Garner's dentures and pieces of his body in the hog enclosure, but most of his remains had been consumed. The district attorney's office said in a statement Monday that it's possible Garner had a medical emergency, such as a heart attack, or was knocked over by the animals before he was killed. But criminal activity has not been ruled out. Authorities estimate the hogs weigh 700 pounds. The DA's office says one hog had either bitten or been aggressive with Garner previously.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/authorities-oregon-farmer-eaten-hogs-17370635#.UGpRmeB5mc0 700 pounds, jesus, poor guy
wow, just wow.
I always knew farm animals were evil...
Pigs are actually extremely aggressive. My grandmother's cousin (Grandcousin?) fell in the trough, and the pigs tore her to shreds. They are ravenous eaters, and will gorge themselves on meat whenever they see fit.
Guess he really got porked
there seems to have been a lot of interesting articles about Oregon lately and I literally just moved to Oregon a couple weeks ago
I didn't know pigs were carnivores. Just holy shit that's a terrible way to go.
It's like Animal Farm for real
It's Animal Farm all over again [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] fuck
No mercy for pigs, turn them all into bacon please.
I didn't know pigs were carnivores. Just holy shit that's a terrible way to go.
Wild Hogs have been known to devour dead deer. They aren't hunters, per-se, but they are extremely aggressive when it comes to meat. Some farmers that raise massive pigs will feed them chickens, since the basic proteins pump up their metabolism a ton. Pigs will eat just about anything, and a lot of the time when they are rooting for bugs, they can eat pounds of them.
baconate them immediately.

For some reason all I can think of is that Herman Cain ad with the chickens. But... Fuck that's horrifying.
[t]http://www.funpeak.com/funnypics/huge-wild-boar.jpg[/t] These are the kinds of pigs I'm talking about. Half-breed Eurasian/Domestic pigs. They grow massive tusks, and can weigh up to 1200 pounds.

That's what pigs are biologically programmed to do. They're like nature's waste disposal units, what we seem to forget is that every creature, on one level or another, is programmed for a basic task. Because we're so used to living in a controlled environment we seem to forget that fact. Nature and it's instincts prevail. Rats are a good example, when one dies the rest instinctually feel the urge to eat it's corpse. It's to deter predators. A friend of mine woke up one morning to find one of her rats eating the other one's face. It's a bit unsettling but it's just nature.
four legs good two legs bad
And THAT'S why my grandfather who used to be a pig farmer wore steel tipped shoes. If they were causing any trouble, they received a kick in the face.
Wild boars have also been known to takedown bears in a horde.
i would beat the fucking shit out of some pigs what the fuck
No, you'd get eaten.
I'm instantly reminded of Snatch.
In reality, Hogs are nature's perfect machine. Evolution has made them capable of surviving the coldest arctics (Eurasian Boar) and the hottest climates (Javelina and various African Warthogs). They can eat just about anything, can have tons of babies, and know damn well how to fight.
ninja'd
Brick Top noooooo [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] dammit ninja'd [editline]niggertits[/editline] the autopsy is gonna be a bitch
