This whole engine was built from the ground, by one person. Question is, he is trying to commercialize it; do you think it is possible? EDIT: scratch that, he is NOT looking to commercialize it. I had to post as soon as Heart of Courage started playing, because it's unbelievably awesome. Now I'll go and watch the rest of the video. It looks pretty awesome.
Whaoh, that looks pretty awesome. Though, any video with that music becomes immediatly awesome. :v:
nice.
:aaaaa:
This looks incredible for a beta engine. :aaaaa:
It got goosebumps :aaaaa: That was an incredible showcase !
This is why I want to learn how to program engines. I mean, I can do C++, but I have NO clue how such a thing is created.
Worthy of the music. Pretty incredible looking engine
He says that it runs quite well on lower end video cards.
Too bad it can't run on anything
Look at the performance bars in the comparisons Ususally, it's actually faster, and when it is slower, it is only a little slower than CE2 or UE3.
Beautifully done.
The song in the beginning is part of another Two Steps from Hell song called Calamity, specifically, he missed it right when it was supposed to pick up.
Wow, that's a beautiful engine.
I wish all of these features could be implemented on Source a man can dream
Music source?
That was awesome, the lighting and global illumination was really impressive
:psyboom:
Music source?
You obviously don't know how to read.
ONE Guy made this... All I can say is holy tit fuck
Holy shit, that's beautiful. I really hope this will be used.
Although the video was nice, I'm still not convinced that's real time. Who knows if it's all just rendered in VRay or something?
I have doubts about its real time rendering. Technically the source engine runs in real time but you can render it at 30 fps or 60 fps and it looks like it's in "real time"
It kinda looks a bit sketchy, especially at the microchip part. It also is kinda strange how one coder made an engine that can outperform commercial engines that got tons of coders.
It kinda looks a bit sketchy, especially at the microchip part.
this isn't showing off graphics or framerates
this isn't showing off graphics or framerates
What isn't? It showed off graphics a lot...
What isn't? It showed off graphics a lot...
well on the mirochip part the engine was demonstrating the depth of field effect so the graphics have no relevance
huh. do you understand that rendering and real time are completely different

In the case of 3D graphics, rendering may be done slowly, as in pre-rendering, or in real time. Pre-rendering is a computationally intensive process that is typically used for movie creation, while real-time rendering is often done for 3D video games which rely on the use of graphics cards with 3D hardware accelerators.
