WSPA reported that police were summoned to a Greenville apartment complex at 7:30 p.m.

Tmorej Smith, 3, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head. Tmorej and his seven year old sister, thinking the gun was a toy, were playing with the gun in a bedroom when the incident occurred. Their parents were not at home and the children were being watched by their grandparents, who were in the living room of the apartment.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/02/05/pink-gun-mistaken-for-toy-3-year-old-s-c-boy-killed-video/
Why would anyone want a pink gun? Like it's some kind of accessory. It's pretty sick if you ask me.
No gun case, easily taken by small children? They make all firearm owners look bad.
Who would even buy a pink gun.
And this is why guns should be locked away safely and not dressed up as garish toys
And this why guns should be locked away safely and not dressed up as garish toys
And the ammo locked up somewhere else.
As if I didn't hate pink fucking guns already.
Flat dark earth and black > pink, pink guns are just ugly.
This wouldnt have happened had the parents been resposible gun owners.
If toy guns need an orange tip to stop them looking like real guns, real guns should not be allowed to look like toys.
what i'm curious about is, how the hell did a 3 & 7 year old operate the gun? was it just left cocked? if any of you havent shot a gun before, racking a 1911's slide requires considerable strength. while it's not herculean by any set of standards, a child shouldnt have the power to cock a pistol.
This reminds me of a segment I saw on the news once about a new line of pink and even cheetah-print stun guns for the female market. I don't know a single lady type that has ever expressed a desire for a pink or cheetah-print gun, stun or otherwise.
Tragic, surely, but assuming the kids just picked it up and used it, aren't the parents guilty of breaking several cardinal rules of gun ownership?
I think it's a good thing that these children had access to a gun. It may have resulted in the horrific and avoidable death of a young child, but at least they're safe from robbers!
Did they just have the gun with the safety off just sitting around? Guns don't fire just by pressing the trigger.
I think it's a good thing that these children had access to a gun. Anyone who leaves a locked-and-loaded pistol, with the saftey potentially off, in a place where a child can get it is a fucking idiot; let alone any weapon.
Reminds me of that Charlie Brooker's Newswipe with those little girls given pink 'cutesy' guns.

Not to mention the 1911 is a pretty safe handgun. If a round isn't chambered, you have to, in order: flick the safety off, rack the slide to chamber a round, use the slide release, and in order to even pull the trigger you have to have a firm grip on the grip-mounted safety. Whatever happened, someone really fucked up.
Hey look, a relevant use for this Weekly Wipe section heck the entire section on gun control is worth a watch
Wow, that's some terrible choice of design. There is absolutely NO WAY you can blame anyone for thinking that's a toy.
Guys, who cares that it's pink. Even if it was a Rainbow Dash gun it's not the guns fault okay? The gun isn't alive. The parents did not teach their kids properly nor did they safely store the gun.

1. No gunsafe 2. Within reach of a 7 year old. 3. No triggerlock 4. Probably stored with the safety off. 5. Stored it LOADED. Way to break all the fucking rules.
For a moment I thought it was the other way around, with a child having a pink toy gun like weapon. Then I saw the gun itself. Seriously who the hell would buy a pink gun?! [editline]5th February 2013[/editline] That would be like if I wanted a display Tommy Gun and asked for a red flame design with racing stripes.

That is just an example of a gun from American Guns. No photos of the gun itself
Really sad it was so easily accessible. My dad owns a couple of rifles and they are stored in a gunsafe. He's the only one with a key.
Title reminded of this god-awful show. Wait shit ninja'd.
Well I can see the gun industry being totally responsible for this atrocity. [editline]jokeline[/editline] The pink gun that is. The death of the kid is just because the owner of said gun had no fucking sense at all, either when it comes to choosing his weapons or when it comes to keeping it away from children.
