Cannabis legalized for recreational use in Alaska!
In yet another major pushback against the war on drugs, Alaska legalized recreational marijuana joining Oregon and Washington, D.C. -- both of which legalized cannabis only hours before on election day.
Alaska becomes the fourth state in the U.S. to legalize retail marijuana, along with Oregon, Colorado and Washington state.
Voters approved Measure 2, which legalizes the possession, use and sale of recreational marijuana. Adults, age 21 and older, may possess up to 1 ounce of marijuana and grow up to six plants (with no more than three being mature) for personal use. The measure also legalizes the manufacture, sale and possession of marijuana paraphernalia, such as devices used for smoking or storing the plant.
Get the ball rolling boys. In 2016 we have several more places on the books for legalization.
Celebrate with that good eskimo weed
I'm really hoping that one day the UK will follow suit of all these states that are legalising marijuana, so much money is wasted here on police raids on seizing marijuana, a drug which is fucktons safer than alcohol or nicotine.

that and then I could continue growing my weed with no worry of police interference.
Damnit, BC, step up already so we can have a green coastline. It's basically legal for recreational use in California if not officially, anyway. We look really shit as the lone holdouts.
That and Sensible BC barely got half the necessary signatures to enact a referendum vote on decriminalization (which is the most a province can do, but this would be a stepping stone to pushing the federal government to change drug law). But, we're going to try again in 2016 if the feds haven't figured shit out by then, and I really fucking hope we don't fail again, because it's going to look positively embarrassing.
Oh, man, how did I miss this? It's too old to get posted as a thread of its own, but :v:
Dana Larsen, founder of Sensible BC, mailed the Premier some weed
Marijuana activist Dana Larsen said today (September 11) that he has sent the premier some weed in the mail.
"I sent the Premier some cannabis buds for two reasons," Larsen said in a news release. "First, I thought if she could get together with Peter Fassbender, Jim Iker and their negotiating teams to share a joint, it would help break down some barriers and give the BCTF negotiations a fresh start.
"Second, I wanted to remind the Premier that legalization would mean over $200 million in annual savings and revenue for her government. Legal, taxed marijuana sales would mean a lot more money for our schools, as well as hospitals, libraries and other community services.
"We know that Christy used to smoke pot in high school, but now that she's Premier she's ignoring the wonderful benefits this crop could have for our province."

tbh marijuana is overrated.
You might think that but there are a lot of people who would disagree with you.
So strange to live in a country where it's legal already and then seeing other countries still fighting for it.
tbh marijuana is overrated.
The fact that you and maybe others think that is nice, it becomes just another normal thing you see in the store, and not some exotic wand that can take you to faraway lands offered to you by a wizard on the street corner.
People who say this tend to have only smoked shitty indicas lol.

The police where I live don't give a shit about cannabis here unless your actively dealing
Shit like that never going to happen in South America. The FARC controls most of the drugs traffic and they would basically go legit.
Will this trend for marijuana legalization and same-sex marriage slow down now that the Republicans have a majority in senate?

it makes me feel sick
sick as in vomiting not "oh dude thats sick"
People who say this tend to have only smoked shitty indicas lol.
Nah man, some people just don't like weed and that's fine.
I just had the weirdest idea of people getting high in igloos
Alaskan Thunderfuck sales skyrocket.
The police where I live don't give a shit about cannabis here unless your actively dealing
Hence why I won't be moving to your area of the UK in the near future!

Idk why, it's state legislatures controlling it
People who say this tend to have only smoked shitty indicas lol.
that's to imply sativas are flatly better than indicas, both are very different experiences, both are highly enjoyable when done right

Ice boxing apparently.
So at this point, once California and BC legalize it the entire west coast is a Green Zone.
that's to imply sativas are flatly better than indicas, both are very different experiences, both are highly enjoyable when done right
Correct. Hybrids are great as well because you can enjoy the experience/benefits of both. Indicas, however, are by no means "shit".
Man Alaska just seems like a really good place to live.

If I smoked pot, I would move to Skagway and let the massive winds carry my smoke far off into the sunrise........
Correct. Hybrids are great as well because you can enjoy the experience/benefits of both. Indicas, however, are by no means "shit".
With indicas, some people might describe it like being shitily drunk, and completely ignoring what the benefits are of indicas.

When I talk to people about it, I generally just sum it up as Indicas are a body high, you feel drunk and become pretty uncoordinated (though of course effects to end up being per strain), while Sativas generally give a more mental high, that stereotypical "Dude what if you make a sandwich but instead of bread you used pizza" kind of thing.
I can already hear all the false police calls of forest fires when it's just a bunch of stoners.
Florida has failed. But Goodshit Alaska

Once people aren't getting arrested over it and having their lives ruined because they owned a bit of plant the size of a gumball, yeah we're going to be fighting for it.
The five people who live in Alaska are very happy about this.
Florida has failed. But Goodshit Alaska
of course Florida just had to be the ONE that it failed in
i feel like all the damn old folks in this state could benefit from this shit the most but nope.
so maybe sarah pailin can now mellow the fuck down, after all she was a massive fucking hypocrite, she admitted to doing pot in college, but in the same sentence, condemned it as something evil and life-destroying, but it was ok because it was legal when she did it.
